Solid 3rd Episode: Very Entertaining Overall

Warning: Spoilers
Rachel lost her powers. Mother Mayhem can mimic voices? That's badass. We get introduced to a new female villain called ''Jinx'' who also uses magic. So the team has to deal with more than 1 villain, that's interesting. Just make the Gar/Rachel thing happen already, they have great chemistry! They hold hands? Super cute. Wait, Gar hearing voices is not something the Witch did? Then what it is exactly? Im a bit confused. Tim repeatedly hitting Conner was funny. Do I sense something going on between Dick and Jinx? Hm maybe...

I like that this season involves magic but I wanna see if they can use it in a smart and believable way. I kind of feel sad about Sebastian, it seems like the world is against him. Like he lost his mom and now he is blamed for a crime he didn't commit? Come on... The guy putting the scissors in his eyes was cool, I like that the show isn't afraid of including more gory stuff. What the hell happened to Kory? The team working with Jinx (a villain) is interesting. Now we have elves on the show? They keep introducing new things, this could get messy. Conner using superspeed to save Sebastian was super cool. Very entertaining episode overall, My rating is 8/10.

Good, It Gets the Job Done

So far, so good. While the show has reverted to some of its old ways, it has made some attempts to address lingering issues. Namely, balanced screen time and narrative presence for all the characters. The reuse of the "lost power" card isn't something I'm really pleased with, but it's not a significant concern if it means we'll get something fresh this time around. I enjoyed "Lisa Ambalavanar's" portrayal of "Jinx", and I look forward to seeing more of her in future episodes. As for the story, we're still gradually unveiling the mystery three episodes in; here's hoping they can finally nail the payoff.

Rating: 7.2/10.

Cliched and lazy episode
robbie-7039711 November 2022
I really like the Titans, and this is the only episode so far that really made me angry. Nothing is original, nothing really was necessary. They sure made time for the derivative, sassy, chip on her shoulder British character as well (Couldn't afford John Constantine? Boy those cuts at Warner Discovery are hitting hard, aren't they?) This episode was just lazy, and forced. It's the kind of book report project that was done the night before and the teacher gave it an 'F'. Now to be fair, there's a lot of runway left, so hopefully they can start over and never speak of "Jinx" again. Do better, Titans. You need at least to reach the heights of the previous seasons. And that isn't too much to ask.
