Film director and screenwriter DeWitt Jones threaded a lot of his Christian faith in the three stories. All three stories either end or start with a scripture and the underscore is how to put God's commandments to application.
Film director DeWitt Jones intended Uncanny to be a TV show reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. He decided to make it a full length feature film with story segments that relate to each other.
DeWitt Jones wrote the film with heavy influence from Krzysztof Kieslowski's "Three Colors" Trilogy. This is the same formula that DeWitt Jones used in the film he wrote, "Three Day Weekend." Unlike the Twilight Zone all of the stories and characters are related in some way.
There was at least five stories, however only three made it to the final film due to budget issues.
This is the first time Steel City Pictures' visual effects department, Steel City Illusions was used on a film.
