The dress Cheryl makes out of air vent hose and shows to Malory on the spaceship is a reference to the swan dress worn by Björk to The 73rd Annual Academy Awards (2001).
The character Bryan Cranston plays, Commander Tony Drake, appears to be modeled after Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
After Pam and Archer have a "quickie", part of a poem tattoo can be read on Pam's back. It is from the third verse of The Destruction of Sennacherib by Lord Byron:
For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still.
This episode marks the first of the series showing a character vomiting on screen. This was clearly intentional to further the humor of their weightlessness, confirmed by Archer torturing Cyril.
