The film is beautifully shot on film, set in Croatia just after the Balkans Conflict. A self-absorbed yet humble protagonist wanders around a sea-side abandoned building, meeting a couple who are stranded, somehow by war and other dark business. The performances, particularly the lead, are compelling. That feeling of travelling alone is elegantly portrayed: the loneliness and need for connection that becomes satisfied in strange ways when you are far from home. The film offers no neat dramatic conclusion, which may disappoint some viewers, but rang true for me. A slice of life, showing what happens when strangers collide in odd circumstances.
