Justin Lin is ready to announce his next project, Stakehorse. Is it about a horse made of wooden stakes? Doubtful. Sources say the forthcoming crime thriller is like Ben Affleck’s 2010 banger The Town. The screenplay hails from Justin Piasecki, with a plot revolving around a horse veterinarian who has a side hustle patching up criminals who need medical attention under the table.
After shooting several chapters of the Fast and Furious saga and more, Lin is a clever and creative director with a sleek style all his own. In addition to directing Stakehorse, Lin will produce through his Perfect Storm Entertainment studio with Todd Lieberman and Alex Young of Hidden Pictures. Perfect Storm’s Andrew Schneider and Sal Gatdula will exec produce.

Exclusive: Justin Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment has acquired World Rally Vice champion Michèle Mouton’s life rights with plans to develop a biopic on her. Mouton’s life story caught the attention of Perfect Storm following the release of Drum Studio’s documentary The Queen of Speed, which won the International Emmy for Best Sports Documentary in 2022.
The project follows the the story of one woman’s rise to the top of the male-dominated world of rally in the 1970s and ’80s. From the streets of Monte Carlo to the deserts of Africa and the heights of Pikes Peak in Colorado, Mouton defied the odds as she broke her way into the motorsport world during the Group B era, a time when rallying was at its fastest and most dangerous. She made history by winning four Fia World Rally Championship races, cementing her reputation as one of the greatest motorsport drivers of all time.
