After the initial shoot for a different film was canceled the student film crew had only three-weeks to come up with a story and script once their college greenlit production after a six-month delay.
The painting that Charlie studies on his apartment wall belongs to director Malcolm Taylor. It is painted by his grandfather, well know Canadian painter Frederick B. Taylor titled, "Triumph & Exaltation - on hearing Shostakovich's Seventh (Leningrad) Symphony," 1943. Malcolm asked composer Joshua Aguas to use it as inspiration to score the opening scene of Charlie's dark apartment.
Filmed during the first wave of the pandemic with newly implemented full COVID-19 safety protocols.
Due to the reworking of the project director Malcolm Taylor was able to add personal experiences from the Toronto acting scene into the story.
Due to the incredibly tight shooting schedule the decision was made to shoot most of the film hand held, which was accomplished by director of photography Eamon Hillis who became his own operator.
