"It's Only Just The Beginning! It's Only Just The Beginning!"...
azathothpwiggins2 May 2021
After a gruesome satanic ritual is broken up, and the female perpetrator is sentenced by the church to die by fire, THE BIBLE OF BLOOD begins.

Zoom ahead several centuries, and med student, Milla (Jasmin Gassman / Lord) gets on her professor's bad side when she makes fun of magical healing. Said prof., a certain Dr. Schwarz (Esther Schweins), assigns a big paper, leading Milla to her encounter with the titular tome.

From this point, Milla discovers that, not only is magic real, but it can also be quite dangerous, even deadly. As circumstances become increasingly bizarre, Milla's logical worldview is thoroughly tested. She also finds herself caught up in something that she may not be able to escape.

Containing elements from other "devil movies" from the past, this German entry is an excellent addition to the sub-genre. It truly generates that conspiratorial feel, and the finale is chilling...

Solid fantastic movie!

OK, this is a German movie. It has been translated in French, so I have had the opportunity of seeing it and understanding the dialogues and the whole story. I am not sure there is any valid English translation for it, so I'll put the poor rating of this movie as a result of a poor understanding of the plot and the dialogues: since I don't speak German I wouldn't have considered watching it in the original language. It's a feel good movie, entertaining enough to make you follow it until the end and I promise you, you won't be disappointed, since it delivers in terms of plot, acting, suspense and everything that makes a movie worth watching. I believe those who rated it so poorly on IMDb were not able to understand it properly while watching it in German or by having it poorly translated in English. The French translation is very accurate, so I believe I can rate it without any fear of misunderstanding it. In case you have the chance of watching it (whether you speak good German or the translation is trustworthy), go for it. It's a good, solid movie.
