Nearing the end
Tweekums4 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In the prologue we see Rook rescuing a young girl from a nest of vampires; we the flash forward fifteen years to the present and Tom helps a young woman called Natasha being chased outside the hotel. He is clearly quite taken by her and offers her a job at the hotel as she had missed the interview she had been going to. Her appearance causes problems for Hal as he can't cope with the blood on her injured hand. She knows why he is disturbed but rather than being scared she offers to let him drink her blood. She is of course the girl Rook rescued and now she is part of his plan to break up Tom and Hal's friendship. Alex meanwhile has come to the conclusion that Capt. Hatch can see her and is probably involved in the string of suicides that took place in the hotel.

'Being Human' has tended to mix horror and comedy but there is little evidence of the latter in this bleak penultimate episode. As Hatch, and his unwitting pawn, Rook's plan starts to work the friendship of our three supernatural protagonists is tested to breaking point and beyond. The regular cast continue to do a fine job especially Damien Molony who was great as Hal; the vampire struggling to do the right thing. Guest star Kathryn Prescott was good as Natasha; it is a shame we won't get to see more of her character. The horror elements were played up nicely and more than once I winced at what was going on. The ending was particularly bleak; I can't wait to see next week's concluding episode to see how things work out.
