A very LA movie

A very LA movie and funny at that. I laughed out loud at least three times. An undiscovered actor is chosen as The One by the vampire slayer community at large. There's lots of fighting, falling off buildings, glowing eyes and bunny heads.

Thumbs Up, if you like this genre.

So an out-of-work actor gets hired to be the star of a vampire-hunter television show, only to find out that he won't be acting. This action-comedy moves fast while covering a lot of familiar ground. Sexy girlfriend who is turning into a vampire, check. Group of nerdy misfits for a back-up team, check.

What really elevates this film is the special effects. Great kills and creative stunts are showcased by high-quality cinematography and audio. Low budget? Maybe. But the money was spent just where you'd want it to be spent.

Some inferior fight scenes and dialogue will leave you grumbling, but ultimately a satisfying fun ride. Would love to see a sequel.

Another vampire comedy indie
Leofwine_draca19 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
THE HUNTED is another novelty vampire comedy made on an indie budget. It's typically cheesy and completely unfunny as are most in this genre. An out of work actor is mistaken for a legendary vampire slayer and is forced into stepping up the plate by assembling a team of fellow slayers to fight a vampire plague. This is mostly dreadful, consisting of some non-actors exchanging lines woodenly and someone occasionally showing off their fangs. It's very rough around the edges and barely raises a smile.

So say we all

Warning: Spoilers
It doesn't take long to figure out this is a comedy vampire film with weak good vampires fighting strong bad vampires, or something like that. The good vampires are looking for "the chosen one" to lead them into battle as they find Bob (Robert Chapin) an under employed actor best known for Vamp Slayer 2. They assemble a group of misfits as this is also a love story and I suppose a very well done found footage tape, filmed by Mike who is now a mute.

Yes, we have seen comedy vampire v. vampire films before, with "Vampire Academy" and "Twilight" series coming to mind with the latter being funny in an MST fashion. For the most part, the humor was predictable, but good. I loved the pep talk scene, kudos Bob, for being able to combine all the great memorable cliché lines from all the other pep talk scenes of our finest and not so finest films. I thoroughly enjoyed that, and unless you are at least half-way into American pop culture films, you won't enjoy the plagiarisms.

I liked the the film which I would classify as a second tier cult classic...and that is not bad.

Guide: F-word. Sex. Promised nudity...maybe the next film.

I live in LA and this movie totally LA if had vampires and a vampire slayer. Funny as heck and loved the ending. For low budget movie, very creative in using humor to make for a decent vampire movie that had me laughing.
