Yoon Sang-Hyun: Choi 'Oska' Woo Young

Quotes

  • [Ra Im - inhabiting Joo Won's body - wants to go to Joo Won's side, but Oska would rather she didn't]

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : The vast love you two have for each other totally blows my lesser world away, but have consideration for the family about to lose a son and a cousin. I'm sorry. Ra Im, I shouldn't get upset with you, but consider, if Joo Won doesn't wake up, his mother... She will go out of her mind for sure if she hears you've run off so soon.

  • Yeun-Sul : [watching Oska on his fourth can of beer]  Joo Won... he's all right? I heard he woke up.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : Not yet.

Yeun-Sul : But someone at the hospital said...

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : That's not my cousin. Not yet.

Yeun-Sul : Could you explain that one to me?

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : That guy was giddy, laughing his damn fool head off over and over, quite unlike himself. He was doubled up so hard, over a story not all that funny, like a lunatic. But it was... his farewell encore.

Yeun-Sul : Can you tell me clearly so I can understand?

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : On the whole, it felt good letting him win all the time, thinking I was the older brother and I was the adult, but then, how much older one is and how much more the adult... to die for someone else?

Yeun-Sul : What exactly is the matter?

    [Oska returns to his beer]

  • Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : Is he going to be okay? Is his amnesia permanent?

Lee Ji-Hyun : We can't really call it amnesia. It's more like a response seen with mental shock. He's suddenly re-awakened inside the memories lost as a 21-year-old; in return, he's disassociated from all memories subsequent to his accident.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : Then what'll become of him now? Will he not be able to function in society?

Lee Ji-Hyun : You needn't worry about him on that point. Thankfully, he's accepted his present situation rather gracefully. Even more remarkable, he regards the whole circumstance with abject fascination.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : Fascination? How so?

Lee Ji-Hyun : Well, he always wanted to become an adult in a hurry; when he woke up he was one, just like in a movie.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : That's a relief.

Lee Ji-Hyun : I told him he is currently president of the family department store. He said he was so happy that he was made head of the department store, rather than you.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : WHAT? That crud!

  • [Lee Ji-Hyun & Oska visit Joo Won]

Kim Joo Won : She says I have a problem with my memory. She says I'm... thirty-four years old.

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : Yes, you are thirty-four years old. And I'm thirty-six years old.

Kim Joo Won : You look that way without doubt, but no matter how I look at it, I just don't look thirty-four. How ever did I do it ?

Choi 'Oska' Woo Young : [to Lee Ji-Hyun]  He was always an arrogant jerk, but he was most obnoxious at age twenty-one. We should favor society. Can't we lock him away somewhere?
