The Enforcer
claudio_carvalho22 February 2024
The Machine delivers the name of the enforcer Riley Cavanaugh, who works in the gang of George Massey, a small-time gangster and loan shark. They question why protect Riley, who is a killer, but soon Reese learns that he is protecting the receptionist of a restaurant Annie Delaney, who is the widow of one of Massey's gangsters that was murdered by the Russian mobsters. Massey orders Riley to kill Annie with his son Eddie Massey, but he calls Eddie and asks him to kill Riley, since he is in love with Annie. However, Riley kills Eddie first and asks Annie to leave her apartment. When George learns that Riley killed Eddie, he offers one-million-dollar bounty to killers-for-hire in New York and the targets are Riley and Annie. Now Finch looks for someone that may withdraw the contract killing and give a chance to Riley and Annie to survive. But there is a price to pay.

"Triggerman" is an entertaining episode of "Person of Interest", where Reese need to protect a perpetrator and victim. The plot shows also the unexpected meeting of Finch and Elias, and the scene with the price that Finch has to pay to the powerful mob kingpin. The plot is also dramatic, since Riley killed Annie's husband, but he also finds redemption in the end saving her life. My vote is eight.

This series started to fill with logic errors!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm trying to like this show, but almost every episode has a logic error. How does it start ringing as soon as Riley finds a phone in the bag instead of money while he is on the roof? There was someone watching him from afar, and that guy told him that he should ring the phone right now? So how did that guy watching from afar not notice John watching them right next to the door?

The script is just written and never thought just written! I really started to love this show after season 2 but I don't think it deserves its IMDb score.

I usually give 7/10 to the shows filled with logic error like this but enjoyable to watch (eg: Arrow), but I really love this show and I will give reluctantly 8/10...
