Tim (Sean Astin) and Cheryl (Samaire Armstrong) are the proud new adopting parents of adorable Mona and they couldn’t be happier – but when a menacing man claiming to be Mona’s biological father begins stalking them at every turn, things take a sinister turn that sees them fighting for their life - and the life of their new daughter.
Adopting Terror is a horror/thriller that pulls out the ideas we’ve come to both love and hate about stalker films and while this tale certainly comes with its fair share of those clichés and silliness, it doesn’t change the fact that the end result here is that this a slickly made and engaging thriller.
It very much helps the film that the cast are all a likeable bunch, from Sean Astin and Samaire Armstrong’s sweet and heart-warming couple to Brendan Fehr...

The days are shorter, the mornings are crisper and Halloween is right around the corner. That can mean only one thing: It's time once again for SplatterFest, Houston's premier horror film fest.
Now in its third year, SplatterFest is the brainchild of filmmakers Kerry Beyer and Kelly Byrns. But this year, Byrns and Beyer have made their SplatterFest even bigger and better than ever. I know what you're thinking — after last year's ultra-groovy Bruce Campbell orgy-a-thon, how is that even possible?
Here's how: SplatterFest 2012 has expanded and created AmazingFest, destined to be one of the Southwest's top pop culture conventions, for a trip back to the days of shoulder pads, parachute pants and mullets...oh yes, my friends, SplatterFest is headed to the 1980s. And the guest of honor will be none other than that close, personal friend of Molly Ringwald and ultimate king of the geeks: the one, the only Farmer Ted.

Director Micho Rutare’s upcoming suspense flick “Adopting Terror” stars Sean Astin, Samaire Armstrong, Monet Mazur, Brendan Fehr, and Michael Gross. Here’s the twist: it was produced by The Asylum and on the Lifetime network. Now, I’m not saying that the either company is incapable of producing something worthy of Astin’s talents, though I must say that I do have my doubts. Of course, Astin isn’t without his stinkers — Frank Coraci’s “Click” is garbage and you know it — and, honestly, the previews don’t paint a pretty picture, either. Be that as it may, it’s an Asylum flick starring Sean Action; skipping it would be a direct insult to my wonky cinematic sensibilities. And we can’t have that, can we? The official synopsis reads something like this: Tim and Cheryl Broadbent are excited to finally adopt Mona, a beautiful baby girl. But when...
