Synopsis

  • Open with a news report that the largest True Blood factory in the world has been destroyed. In celebration of their plan taking shape, the new hierarchy feasts on a man.

Molly finds the compound is on lockdown, meaning nobody is allowed to leave. Eric asks her if there is any way they can escape.

Sookie has Lafayette help her figure out why she's connected with the spirit of the vampire Warlow. He ends up getting a message from Gran, who tells Sookie she's "sleeping on top of it." Under her bed Sookie finds a box full of letters.

Jessica assures the police Hoyt is not one of the Obamas. Jason arrives and Jessica says she can no longer feel Hoyt. She's worried something has happened to him and it will be her fault.

Cut to Hoyt's unconscious body being dragged near what sounds like a pigpen.

Sam wants to take Luna to the hospital, but she declines.

Terry leaves home, apparently to find Patrick and give him a fair fight to the death.

Pam and Tara talk about Fangtasia only having a few weeks worth of True Blood on hand. When that runs out, Tara points out, it will be a bloodbath. Pam wants to stay out of the politics. Tara has noticed Pam is concerned about Eric.

Eric tells Bill his Pro-Lilith act isn't going to work much longer. But Bill seems to think there's a possibility God is a vampire named Lilith. Eric reminds him he's a mainstreamer at heart and tells him they need to get off the compound. They have to get some of Salome's blood in order to bypass the security doors. Eric wants them to leave the following day.

Sookie finds a newspaper clipping about her parents' death in the box. It mentions that Sheriff Bud was the one who found their bodies.

With the sun about to come up Jessica leaves the station. She makes Jason promise he'll find Hoyt. The cops finds a website called "Keep America Human." On the site is a video of the Obamas tying vampires down in the sign. They hear references to "Long live the Dragon!" and Andy is reminded of Cleetus Boathouse, a former Klansman who died 20 years ago. Andy and Jason wonder who the new Dragon might be.

When Joe Bob won't tell Jason and Andy anything about the Dragon, they give him a severe beating.

Alcide drives on the road. He flashes back to being a teenager and being taught by his father about the importance of the pack. A group of young wolves are given the option of choosing their human or wolf side as they go forwards in life. They pick "pack." In present day we see Alcide is driving to Jackson.

Sookie meets with Bud. He remembers evidence of a vampire attack, but at the time they thought it was a gator. Sookie reads his mind and hears that he's hiding something. But his thoughts make it clear he doesn't know Worlow. At that point a large woman hits Sookie over the head with a frying pan and tells Bud to grab her body.

Andy talks to the press about the Obamas but doesn't give them much. Sam and Luna show up to the station and tell Andy they went back to the basement and got the scent of pigs. They aren't happy with Andy's seeming unwillingness to help them and decide to go out on their own.

Patrick grabs Arlene at gunpoint on her way into Sam's to start her shift. He tells her to call the other employees and tell them the restaurant is closed that day.

Sookie wakes up and finds herself bound next to a pen full of pigs. She looks over and sees Hoyt lying unconscious. Based on the way his thoughts sound, she thinks he's been drugged. One of the Obamas walks into the room.

Andy and Jason look for connections between Junior and Joe Bob. Both were arrested by Bud, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Andy then notices one of the dancing Obamas in the video is wearing the cowboy boots Bud was given at his retirement party. They think Bud is the Dragon.

Cut to Bud talking to Sookie about the fact somebody needs to do something about the vampires. The large woman from earlier makes walk in and tells Sookie her name is Sweetie. Their plan is to kill both Sookie and Hoyt. They talk about wanting a law requiring supernaturals ("supes") be killed on-sight. Sookie reads Sweetie's mind and sees that her husband left her for a shifter. She is the Dragon. Bud forces Sookie to drink some ginger ale laced with oxycontin.

Jason and Andy break into Bud's place. Jason recalls that Bud's wife's family owned a pig farm.

Terry arrives at Sam's unarmed. He finds Patrick sitting in a booth with his gun at Arlene's head. Terry offers a fair fight, but Patrick thinks Terry is too strong. Just as Patrick is about to shoot Terry, Arlene stabs him in the neck with a hairpin. The two men fight and eventually Patrick gains the upper-hand. Once again Arlene comes to the rescue, pulling the gun on Patrick.

Nora tells Eric about the origins of her faith. He tells her he doesn't want to fight her, that he "wants to believe." He asks her to help him and they kiss.

Bill and Salome are in bed together. She says Lilith has chosen them to birth a new world. They begin having sex and Bill sees her as Sookie and bites her. Then he sees her as Lilith. Salome is back to herself but he has bitten her and has her blood in his mouth.

Sam shifts into a pig in order to save Sookie. Sweetie runs away as soon as she sees the "dirty shifter." Sam takes on all the Obamas and fares quite well. Andy and Jason pull up. Andy pulls his gun on Bud. When Bud makes a move at Sam with his shovel Andy puts him down. Jason grabs Sookie, who points him to Hoyt.

Outside Luna runs down Sweetie and begins to beat the snot out of her.

Terry has his gun pointed out Patrick, who tells him he needs to do what is right. Terry hesitates, until he has a vision of the Iraqi woman telling him the same thing. He kills Patrick. The Iraqi woman says "blood has been paid with blood." The fire monster shows up and takes Patrick's body.

When Pam tries to stop a vampire from feeding on a human in Eric's throne, he tells her that the ban on public feeding has been lifted. He then says "Northman's history" and says he's the new sheriff of Area 5.

Hoyt is taken to the hospital with a weak pulse.

Russell tells Newlin some of his history with werewolves. Newlin says he's never had a pet. They walk into a barn and Russell greets JD and the entire pack. Russell bites his own wrist and the wolves flock to him for a drop or two. He notices Martha, who is holding Emma. When Martha says she'll never drink from Russell, he grabs Emma and gives her to Newlin as his first pet.

Alcide arrives at his father's home. He tells him he lost pack master and is now a lone wolf.

Sookie is visited by the faeries. The tell her about vampires being behind the True Blood factory explosions.

With help from Molly, Eric drugs Nora. Bill shows up and it looks as if the plan is working perfectly. But when the door opens Salome is standing there and Eric and Molly are quickly surrounded by a dozen guards. Bill tells a furious Eric he's doing this for Eric. "You have been chosen by Lilith," Bill says.
