Tap dancing on the third rail
tfc15 November 2022
Good episode. Dave Chappelle did a fantastic job of pushing the envelop on several controversial topics but did not rip through the envelope. Unlike other celebrities who did a pole dance on the third rail of controversial topics and have died publicly, Chappelle did an entertaining tap dance on the third rail and lived. This is a mark of good comedy. Just as the court jester could make fun of the royal court on issues that all the other nobility knew about but were afraid to talk about openly, the jester would survive as long as they didn't cross the line too much. The rest of the episode also was pretty racey and pushed things to the limit yet did it so funnily that you were not too offended, but laughed. All in all, very cathartic, one of the better episodes of SNL in a while.

Finally a funny episode to watch!

The show has been steadily going downhill for the past couple of seasons lacking funny cast members and guests. It was a breath of fresh air to see Dave Chappelle host the show and he brought back the funny and hilarious jokes. Dave was so good that he hardly needed the supporting cast to help out and made people laugh. I am glad that they did not add woke agenda are subplot to this episode which made for a great entertainment. Even when other comedian hosted the show they did not carry it as well as Dave Chappelle did. This episode I consider as one of the best for the past five or six seasons and I hope lorne Michael will have more episodes like this in the future.

Such a great episode. One of the best in sooo long. From start to finish it was really funny. The E. T. Costume on Halloween was a riot and def need more Sarah news weekly. Molly is a super funny. . Am I the only one who things she's Farley reincarnated?? Longfellow reminds me of Norm so it might just be nostalgia why I like all the cast members new and old. Dave on is amazing like 20 mins of good stand up. Can never go wrong.

Words of wisdom. Never let a job see that they can do a job better with out you...

So, to the writers that wanted to stay home, please continue to do so cuz what we see is the shows funnier with out you.

Dave Chappelle is gold

The fact that it is entire episode was basically just written by Dave Chappelle and his jokes and all were amazing this had to have been hands down one of the best episodes in the last few seasons especially the last few weeks as the last few episodes have been really really terrible and not worthy to watching at all except if they're making fun of anything of Kanye because everybody knows Kanye should not be talked about nor should ever Trump so let's go Dave Chappelle thanks for a great show that can't be repeated again, lets hope they bring him back again as its whats needed to save this show.

Just say no to Dave
sysdev15 November 2022
Might have been a good show without Chappelle.

First of prompting an "it's OK to say anti-semetic comments is way out of line.

Opening monologue was not funny, there seemed to be some polite and forced laughter from the audience but for sure it was not a funny routine.

And always giving you that smug look like he is being ever so clever with his banter is cloying.

One 'joke' even fell so flat that he had to tell the audience "that was a joke". If your material requires you to indicate what is or isn't a joke you need to come up with a new career path.

SNL can do well without Dave Chappelle ever showing up on their stage again.

Alot of burned cookies

..over Dave Chappelle allegedly going rogue with his opening monologue. Kudos to him for reminding anyone who still bothers to watch SNL that words aren't assault weapons. They are words. We don't have to give them power or weight if we choose not to. It is our business to listen or ignore them. Did anyone not make it to Sunday morning's sunrise after Dave Chappelle opened his mouth on national TV? No one was harmed? Imagine that. People sure do act like they were legitimately threatened or is it just in their mind? Then maybe the people screaming bloody muder over sentences uttered in a comical way should get a life and find something better to do with their time and money instead of pretending words actually harm people. They don't. They never will. If you want to come across as deranged thinking in such a way then keep it to yourselves. I know the arguement is that harmful language can damage mental health and yet, the more concern over language, the worse mental health is becoming. Dramatically worse in the last 5 years alone. Imagine that...As they used to say in the 70s when this show really meant something "F---'em if they cant take a joke". The them is anyone who gives comedians additional celebrity status by being outraged over the words they say. Again, get a life and SNL still needs a better writing staff. This season has been dreck so far.
