Marks the first time Dave and Josh finally met their idols Hamish Blake and Andy Lee. During the first season of The Silic & Lee Show (2011) there was a running gag that Dave and Josh were rivals with Hamish and Andy. The little scuffle between the boys that occurs at the beginning of their interview on this special was obviously staged. The interview was initially conducted and once they all shook hands Dave asked if they could partake in the short skit. Hamish and Andy thought it was a hilarious idea and performed the little gag for the show.
This is the first episode of The Silic & Lee Show (2011) not to feature any segments filmed in studio or any experiments / challenges filmed at Federation Square. There was, however, a sketch filmed at Federation Square that saw Dave and Josh 'rehearsing' for the Logies by rolling out their own red carpet and interviewing the public. In the end there were so many celebrities interviewed at Crown Casino that the producers decided that 4 minutes of celebrity interviews was more important to include than a 4 minute Fed Square segment involving random public.
The sketch was however edited to completion and will make it's debut in the first episode of season 2.
The first 'episode' of The Silic & Lee Show (2011) not to air at the original time slot of 9.30pm Saturday. Instead, it was aired at the special prime-time spot of 8.00pm Wednesday, one and a half weeks after the actual Logies ceremony.
Dave and Josh maintained communication with Hamish Blake and Andy Lee throughout the night. The boys briefly interviewed them back stage in the media room after they won their award for Hamish & Andy's Gap Year (2011) , a short clip of which is seen at the very end of the special. When Hamish won his Gold Logie, an excited Andy gave handshakes and hugs to the entire Silic & Lee Crew and Hamish even let the boys hold the Gold Logie, posing for a photo with them as well as with each individual crew member.
The crew spent time in the Media Room backstage during the actual ceremony itself, where they spent quite a bit of time hanging out with some of the attending celebrities.
Lincoln Lewis spent some time sitting with the crew during some of the speeches and chatted with them for a while as did Lynda Kinkade , who, unbeknown to the crew was a Channel 7 news reporter.
