REROOT is set in Belfast and the cityscape background includes a number of landmarks such as the yellow Harland and Wolff cranes, the Titanic Museum, the Grand Central Hotel, the City Hospital and the Victoria Square dome.
The Daisies in the film don't speak and represent no language at all. They only giggle. They are voiced by Clare Handley, Cliodhna Ni Chorrain and Connor Richmond. Another cheeky nod to the storytellers' role in the film from a flower which represents new life and new beginnings.
The title of both language versions is REROOT, however, both versions also include the Irish word 'Dóchas' on the artwork of the plastic bottle. This is the Irish word for 'hope' and is a little nod to the filmmakers' own Irish roots and heritage. It's also a very lyrical and poetic word.
REROOT is a cheeky reference to 'reduce', 'reuse', 'recycle'. It is also an ironic nod to the word 'route'.
