Too many discrepancies
dragonbiker16 March 2024
1. The car was not far enough over to have fallen if they took the passengers out.

2. They could have easily winched the car back far enough to have saved them.

They had way more than enough security to have stopped the car from falling.

There were over 8 people stood around that could have weighted the rear of the car down to stop it falling, even though it did not need it due to the 2/3rds on the road and only 1/3 over the bridge edge, plus given that if the chains had been placec right, they could have winched the car back onto the road anyway.

Not to mention that if the bosses were having mental problems due to their situations, they should have not been working.

This is not the way things happen...

Warning: Spoilers
We have enjoyed this program for the most part. This episode is the weirdest and most unbelievable so far. For starters, there is just no way that car in that crash ends up with a crushed passenger area and shoved through a narrow gap in the bridge railing that looks like it has been cut out. It would have had to flip to crush it and would have taken out 50 feet of railing. Then the canard of the engine not getting through the 'traffic' on a 2-lane country road. If the captain and crew were going to walk to the crash, they could have cleared the cars off of the road and gotten the engine through. It SHOULD have been simple to secure the car to the other side of the bridge with chain. Pulling the girl out should have relieved a lot of the forward tilt but it seemed to make it worse. And all of the personal junk going on between Captain and Manny and Bode was SO overplayed and a lot of their argument just made little sense. Here's hoping the writing gets back to being better after the Holidays.

going downhill

Warning: Spoilers
Quite enjoyed the first few episodes but things are going downhill rapidly for this show pretty quickly.

This episode had some real problems and a lot of what happened was just not believable or shown realistically. In fact a lot of the challenges the fire crew faced were so ridiculous they were funny and not thrilling - in particular the "gridlocked traffic" preventing the fire crew access the bridge which should have been moved, or just driven around.

Most of the dialogue took place in situations that didnt make sense. Then prison crew talk about reaching the top of the hill but they're clearly barely halfway up the hillside in a clearing, two firefighters walk purposefully along the bridge ... but they aren't actually doing anything. The trapped kids parents

The car was supposed to be sliding slowly off the bridge, but it just kind of vibrated in place like an animatronic at a theme park.

Tv shows aren't movies, even jerry bruckheimer produced tv shows are going to fall short of a big budget movie.... but this episode was so utterly awful it wasnt even to the standard of a daytime soap.

Unbelievable

Warning: Spoilers
This show started out ok, got my interest, but now it's just a mess. The car that was hanging half off the bridge was caved in on the top like a tree landed on it how does that happen in a supposed head on car crash? Then to secure the car they start by using a nylon strap and think that will hold it. Are you kidding me. Hook up a chain which they finally did and get a come a long and ratchet the car back. Then everyone is just standing around arguing with each other about what to do. Here's a thought, go get the cars blocking the road off to the side and get the truck to the bridge. I just shook my head at this episode to how clueless everyone seemed to be. There's so much family drama in this show it should be on daytime as a soap opera. If there is a season two I hope the writers get their heads out of their butts and be more realistic. This show is a laugh. And whats up with Diane Farrs hair? It looks like someone took a dull rusty hedge trimmer to it. It's as messed up as this show.

Poorly Written

Warning: Spoilers
I like this show. It's normally very entertaining and gives a bit of relief of real life when watching the show. This however was like an episode of Days of our Lives. Here is what would happen in this real life situation - The car is level and is mid engined this means that the car would likely be slipping forwards not stationary. ALL of the cars in the way of the fire truck have room to move and no person would just stand next to their car and not even attempt to move it. A rachet strap to secure the car??? No, Emergency Rescues will use steel cables with a stronghold of well over 10 tonne and would feed this around the car through the windows and doors. Finally any "unconciouss person" would not be the last person to be rescued. They would be the priority not the person who is awake and talking.

Where do I begin
dafrench6314 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show started off good but is going downhill fast. I hope it gets saved soon. Someone in a review of a previous epiaode said even the 70s tv show Emergency! Had better fire department and rescue procedures and they were right. It was a well written show with believable procedures. This show is asking us to believe the unbelievable. The premise of the show is believable but the telling of the atory is coming off the hinges. Sorry it seems like my review is all over the place but this app requires a minimum amount of characters in order to submit a review. I hope this show gets better because it appears it's been renewed for a second season.
