  [no response from Megan] 

  Adam Lucas : Uh, what about your daughter, uh, Lacey? How's she doing?

  [no response from Megan] 

  Adam Lucas : All right. You know what? We're gonna be working together, so doesn't it make sense to get to know each other?

  Megan Hunt : [after more silence]  That's a $5,000 watch. On your salary? Rich girlfriend or rich parents? You tried to wash off the club stamp from last night, but I can still see it, and no guy with a girlfriend goes to a club on a Wednesday night, so I'm gonna go with rich parents. The question is, why would somebody who comes from money become a cop? Act of rebellion or reaction to trauma, which is it?

  Adam Lucas : Well, you know, maybe the watch is a knockoff.

  Megan Hunt : It's not.

  Adam Lucas : All right, you know, I-I thought that you were giving me a hard time because I work with Tommy, but that's not the case, is it? No, you expect everyone who flies around your airspace to bend over backwards in serving your agenda. Well, you know what? It's not my style. I'm a detective. You're an ME. That means I work with you. I don't work for you.

  [Megan looks at him and smiles after a few seconds] 

  Megan Hunt : Lacey's doing great. Thanks for asking.

• Megan Hunt : Hey. What are you doing here?

  Ethan Gross : Kate sent me. Apparently your latest medicolegal investigated quit... again.

  Megan Hunt : I was really starting to like him.

  Ethan Gross : Really? Because he told me you assessed his abilities as being slightly below that of a trained monkey.

• Curtis Brumfield : [entering]  Why did the crime lab call me to pick up your trace report?

  Megan Hunt : Because I was busy.

  Curtis Brumfield : And I wasn't?

  Megan Hunt : Apparently not.

  [reaches for the report but Curtis pulls it away] 

  Megan Hunt : Thank you.

  Curtis Brumfield : [handing her the report]  Mm-hmm.

• Megan Hunt : *That* guy is supposed to be protecting me from Riley? I feel safer being guarded by you.

  Ethan Gross : Thank you.

  Megan Hunt : That one... not a compliment.

• Ethan Gross : Which reminds me... it's not that I don't mind doing the job your medicolegal investigator should be doing...

  Megan Hunt : Which means you do mind.

  Ethan Gross : No. Just wondering when you're gonna hire somebody that you don't fire or make quit.

  Megan Hunt : When I find somebody who's slightly *above* trained monkey. And right now, you're the only one who fits the bill.

  Ethan Gross : I think that was a compliment.

• Kate Murphy : What the hell were you thinking, waltzing into this house and harassing the victim's husband? You come to me first.

  Megan Hunt : I heard you were here. Two birds, one stone.

• Megan Hunt : I'm sorry for the intrusion but... because of Riley's escape, the identity of Caroline's killer has been called into question.

  Emmett Harrington : You're saying Robert Riley might be innocent?

  Megan Hunt , Kate Murphy : [at the same time]
