Profanity

  • Strong language used throughout each episode. Including regular uses of 'F*ck' (10-20 per episode) and some uses of 'C*nt' as well as milder language such as 'sh*t' etc. A couple of uses of 'D*ckhead.' Profanity is frequently used by young children and teens.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A woman watches a sextape. Moaning can be heard and sex can be seen. No nudity. The scene lasts under a minute.

Violence & Gore

  • The series' most relaxed murder scene happens when Ian's boss has his throat sliced with a box cutter. He begins to crawl through a room, his blood coating the floor, until the killer takes a fire extinguisher and hits him in the side of the head with it; the initial hit doesn't kill him but the killer brings it down into his head again, killing him.
  • Five agents from different countries murder their families and then kill themselves. Four of these murders aren't shown but you do see one of the families die; three children are shot in the head off-camera and the agent's wife is shot in the chest and back of the head. The agent then shoots himself.
  • A man shoots two people in front of a terrified child, one of which is her mother. Blood and gunshot wounds are shown.
  • A woman escapes using a medical waste bin. She emerges covered in blood, flesh, and excrement. In the next scene, she washes off in a sink and it is shown in close-up.
  • A man shoots and kills two people, blood pools around them. The third who is bound to a chair is shot in the head as he begs for his life. Blood spurts out of him. Sounds of blood dripping continue.
  • A women has visions of a dead man. This man appears with a gunshot wound in his head and chest and generally does freighting things.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole series is disturbing in nature. The violence in the series is quick and brutal and is a stark contrast from the slow and deliberate feel of the show. The violence against children, while almost never shown, can be absolutely horrifying. Any character associated with 'The Network' (especially the two assassin characters, Arby & Lee) is frightening, and any scene involving them is almost always disturbing. The violence, while quick, is very brutal, and very real. The plot involves eugenics, which can unsettle some viewers. This show is not for the faint of heart.
