I don't watch Anime
flopmuffinz2 December 2022
I have seen little to no Anime in my lifetime, let alone watching a series week to week but this show has been absolutely fantastic. The characters are all interesting, and the world is mysterious and keeps you wondering what is going to pop up next. This episode in particular was absolutely perfect writing. I don't read the manga so everything was a total surprise. I have no idea where it is going to go from here but I am ready for it.

If the show keeps up the pace that this episode has set, we are in for a real treat. This is not just a great anime but a great show in any genre.

I cannot wait for Tuesday.

This just went from 0 -100 in NO TIME!!

Holy this episode was absolutely INSANE! Was in shock when the ending came on! One jaw dropping moment lead to the next with barely any time to process what you just witnessed! The pacing in the second half was just out of this world with all emotional aspects coming into play! I guess its dangerous to get attached to someone!

Animation was once again amazing! Quality never drops only improves! Katana man entrance and introduction was badass and the fight was the best one so far!

I cant tell where the show goes from here and that makes me very excited! This was definettely best episode so far!

Ending was another solid entry! Gave me Tokyo Ghoul-vibes!

I DON'T PUT REVIEWS BUT OH WELL....

This just Reminded me of the red wedding episode , when everything was in a good shape and calm , they are having their time and then... BOOM! The episode went from 0 to 10 in like nowhere , it's not nust the ending that made this episode great! It's the atmosphere ! The build up! Now we know we shouldn't trust the writer cause he might kill anyone , it's not safe anymore!!! 10/10

1- the build up was perfect 2- Unpredictable 3- INSANE CHARACTERS BUILD UP 4- Opens a dark side story that will make you question on.. what the f## is going on ?

5- Cliffhanger that reminded me of AOT

WATCH THIS ANIME , THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY !!!

Absolutely perfect

Warning: Spoilers
The real beginning of chainsaw man is finally here. Numerous characters are suddenly killed off and it sets the bar for how dark the series is willing to go.

The animation is stunning (as expected), although some of the cgi is a tad janky. For the most part the manga is adapted extremely well, with only one scene which I preferred the manga version of. The action is thrilling and effective, the horror aspects are pretty scary, and the overall tone of the episode is exactly what it needs to be.

I also want to express how brilliantly the shooting sequence was adapted. The music, the atmosphere, the shots of the guns being pulled, and then the sudden bangs all add up to what might have been the best scene animated yet.

10/10, can't wait for next episode.

BEGINNING OF THE PAIN
sanchezr-498342 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After i finished reading this chapter and arc on the manga, my thoughts were how they were gonna do it animated. It's kinda a "turning point" on the series that stuff are gonna go down after this and it'll change the story forever. Seeing it animated was amazing, even tho i knew what was gonna happen, it still left me in shock. I want to give a huge shoutout on those who worked on Chainsaw Man, even tho it's still in the beginning, you can see how much effort they put and give the series the cinematic tone it has like on the manga and there's no other studio and team that coulda done it better.

Before all the madness happened, I love how the 3 characters, Denji, Aki and Power seem very comfortable with each other now in a way that they seem like siblings. Even tho Himeno wasn't in that many episodes, we can see how big of a impact she is in Aki's devil hunting career and how greatly it'll affect Aki after all of this is over, the way they give glimpse of flashbacks throughout the episodes help us have a insight on why Himeno wanted to sacrifice herself for Aki.

This is also the introduction of Katana Man and they already made him look sinister, especially knowing that he's the grandson of the Yakuza that owned Denji.

I am so Excited to see the rest
amnjhnsh2 December 2022
This show gonna make anime world proud I'm 100% confident. I saw its Manga but i didn't know it could be this great. Totally satisfied. ChainsawMan can be a masterpiece, the drawing, the characters, the story, the story behind every scene and each person, completely a full organized Manga. In my opinion Attack On Titan is on top of my least and ChainsawMan can be the 2nd. At first I thought this can't be in the list of Darkest Ones but when I saw this episod not also it changed my mind, plus its can make it to Top of the All Time ones or Hall of Fame. I just don't know how many chapters it has and how many episodes they're gonna run this Anime.

WOW !!
Dart-20 December 2022
I usually don't write reviews but this episode, god damn!! The feelings!! So cool!!

Everything is so well done. The writing, the animation, the characters. I haven't read the manga, so I have no idea what is coming next, but seeing such an episode, so early in the anime is very promising!

At first, I was a bit "meh" when I started this anime, I thought it was just another generic shonen anime, but I was wrong. The characters are really likable, well-writen. And there's maturity. Not like all the cute nowadays animes. It's very refreshing.

Can't wait to see how this anime gonna be in the future!

And we're only scratching the surface ...
jkrulee3 December 2022
Would give this a 9.5 if I could, and I really was not expecting the episode to be as good as it was. These chapters of the manga were good but Mappa's artistic direction elevated them to another level so well it's impressive.

It would take too long to praise all of the great moments that occurred throughout this episode in a single review. So, I would just like to recognize how genius Mappa is for choosing to split the episode into the first calm, slice of life type half and then decide to suddenly switch gears abruptly into something much more sinister and dramatic in the second half. Despite that first half being calm and much less eventful, I really do feel it made the episode a little bit better just because it allowed the second half to seem that much more chaotic.

The episode is already rated a 9.6 on here and as a manga reader I'm just gonna assume IMDb is gonna have to let their ratings go past 10 once future episodes get adapted because this one was only scratching the surface of what's to come. Seriously, this episode isn't even gonna be anywhere near a top 10 episode of the show by the time the entire manga gets animated (which it hopefully does).

Really good episode though. Praise Mappa - they're going so incredibly hard with the animation for no reason.

Not a perfect show, but this is a perfect episode
richard_nixonion18 December 2022
Sitting here after finishing this episode in total shock. Episode 1 of Invincible levels of shock. This took everything I knew about the world, the pecking order, and the distribution of power, and flipped it on its head. Absolutely bonkers that an episode like this is buried rather deeply in the season, but they've done something clever here. They spent the first 7 episodes lulling you into a sense of relative understanding of the world, only to increase the shock of seeing your hero's utterly outmatched.

Definitely not a perfect show by any stretch, but this might be the perfect episode oe for this show - if you catch my drift.

If you're reading this and are on the fence about this show, read this and please watch the series.

I won't spoil this, so if you have not seen the show and are wondering why this has a 9.4 rating (as of September 2023), I hope this review can do justice.

Up to this point in the series, there have been some crazy fights, great character development, and some moderately intense moments. But with this episode, everything goes more than south. In a matter of moments, everything you thought you knew about the show gets thrown out the window, and reality kicks in with no warning. It's so bleak and devastating, culminating in one of the best scenes I have ever beared witness to. The way the original soundtrack, audio design, and animation all come together is so perfect it has to be seen to be believed.

I envy the people who have not seen this yet, because it is such a bleak, brutal, and in some ways, absolutely gorgeous episode. It will stun you, genuinely upset you, and leave your jaw on the ground by the end. The second half is beyond words.

Incredible

Warning: Spoilers
I can't remember the last time a series or a movie made me gasp. I have been enjoying the series already but this episode really turned on the heat.

There is a sense of disbelief and shock when multiple characters are suddenly killed. I have not read the manga and know nothing about it so this came to me completely from the bushes.

Besides the plot twist, the amazing visuals of the fights are jaw dropping. You can really feel the power and scale of the beings.

I am left with a hunger to know what just unfolded. Instead of demons without much depth to their character, the viewer is now presented with these mysterious half human, half demon monstrosities.

Hits you like a Japanese bullet train.

Man o' man, this episode was so unexpected and crafted perfectly, it is on par with 'Hero' episode from attack on titan, if not better. The tension, character depth, dialogues and emotions were super high on this one. I almost don't feel sleepy now despite being it being 1 am, that's how much adrenaline it pumped. Chainsaw man surely is the next big thing if MAPPA continues this kind of top tier animation. The power, the mystery and the premise makes it a concoction of brilliant recipe only few can savor.

Most of the characters are likeable and the dubbing team did a terrific job. Soundtrack is wow too.

Devilishly blasted episode
akkipothani-745602 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the best anime series I've ever watched.

The animation is too smooth, I mean too smooth. It has freakishly realistic movements. First, it started with Himeno's POV and how she tried to sleep with Denji while drunk, but Denji refused. Then after some slice of life scenes, everything's changed. The real chainsaw man begins now. Everything will be gore and deaths will continue. I read the manga but Himeno's death will always make me sad. Her VA was so good. And Katana man entry was perfectly adapted. Aki vs Katana man is greatly animated with smooth movement, just like how a human moves. The curse devil CGI was so horrifying, even though it was CG.

I give the episode 10/10. And I recommend you to watch Chainsaw man and read the manga as well.

Chainsaw man
onelaggone11 February 2024
This anime is one of the best anime in history, which is really high quality, its graphics are stunning, and its strength is its wonderful story, which literally leaves no room for discussion. This anime is like a tank that moves forward and destroys all its competitors so that it is always the winner of the field and always remains number one, And Mapa studio has helped this development a lot, especially because of its wonderful graphics. The best of all episodes was episode 12, when the chainsaw man and Aki took revenge on Himeno from the katana man, and he was punished. They did it. Thank you.

"Like I'd do it with a puke-woman like you."

So here is where "Chainsaw Man" starts getting weird. Or should that be weird-er?

The episode begins on a human note, with Denji and a drunken Himeno alone together, Himeno feeling very amorous. She is stripping Denji's clothes off, but when she finds a lollipop in his pocket, he is reminded of the fact that he is in love with Makima, and wants his first time to be with her.

The episode takes a shocking turn with some gun-related violence. So far, the show has often been gory, but in the typical over-the-top anime way. These scenes of sudden murder are shocking because they are perhaps the most realistic violence we've seen so far.

From there, the show goes off the rails into glorious strangeness. Different "devils" appear. Enormous monstrous creatures I'm not even sure how to describe. The episode ends with many characters presumed dead or missing. But as weird as this show is, you know they're probably not going to stay that way.

Normally, weird AF anime is a hard no from me. It just seems lazy, like they can't be bothered to come up with something that is visually interesting but also makes sense. "Chainsaw Man", though, has earnt some brownie points so I enjoyed the strangeness.

I just hope it's going to go back to making sense. If it's just weird for the sake of being weird from here on out, I'll be disappointed.
