"The LEGO Story" is an animated 17-minute short film from 2012, so this one has its 5th anniversary this year. It is a Danish production (fittingly with the origin of the company), but it is in the English language, so that people everywhere can enjoy it where they know Lego too. Which is in fact really everywhere except the African jungle perhaps. I could not summarize this film better than the film's title does in only 3 words. This is the story of the Lego enterprise, how it rose, overcame fires and more and eventually became a global player. And it could not be a more relevant film these days as not only is Lego still loved by millions, if not billions, but the Lego animation style has made it to theaters now in a very successful manner. But the style to this one is not Lego animation style, which is good because I am not a great fan of that. And I never really played with Lego. But you don't need to in order to enjoy the watch here. It was handled very convincingly and there is also decent love to detail, for example if we look at the scenes playing in the 1930s and the characters' clothes for example. So overall, this certainly is a good watch for animation lovers and Danes who are the ones that I recommend this one especially. Thumbs-up.
