While "Busted Cart" isn't the best episode from "Regular Show" it is certainly very interesting to watch, since it sheds light, at least partially, on Benson's personality and the way in which he behaves towards Mordecai and Rigby.
In the first season, Benson started being a character similar to Squidward: Grumpy, sarcastic and somewhat cynical. Or at least, that was the impression I had about him. Then, since the episode "Benson be Gone" (From the second season) he started to show a different side from his personality. He acted more friendly towards the others (Including Mordecai and Rigby) and apparently started to consider them as friends.
Unfortunately, this nice character development had a really, really bad moment in the awful episode "The Best Burger in the World", were Benson simply acted like a complete jerk (or even a bully) towards Mordecai and Rigby. And unlike some previous chapters, in "The Best Burger in the World", he truly seemed to hate the duo.
That's why it was nice to see, that, despite everything, Benson didn't really hate Mordecai and Rigby, as he specifically says that he doesn't really hate them, just the things that the two do all he wants is to push them to be better. And there is even a pretty heartwarming (and funny) scene between those three character, acting friendly towards each other after so many mean -spirited episodes (Like "Replaced", for example) Of course, then there is some Diabolus ex Machina moment which almost ruins that previous nice scene, but at the same time, serves as a important part of the series in order to understand Benson's personality better. Even when it was hard for me sympathy towards Benson despite his jerk behavior in some previous episode, his anger and frustration seemed perfectly understandable.
It almost seemed that this episode was merely done in order to portray Benson as a victim, but it also served to show that, despite everything, Mordecai and Rigby genuinely care about Benson and try to help him. The fact that the two risked their lives near the end of this chapter to save Benson's job is enough proof of that.
Maybe the ending was a bit rushed, but it was a good episode anyway.
