The 2020 pandemic hit 'best of' aside there are two real types of 'Strictly' Christmas Special. One is where they get ex stars back to have one more bop around the dance floor, and the other is where we are introduced to new celebs who either are seeing whether committing to the full series would suit, or others who want to have a go just for a brief spell.
This years format was very much the latter, with all the inflated scores and surprises along the way. It was good fun, and there are a few of the cast I wouldn't mind seeing join up for the 2023 series proper.
It was nice to see Bruno get his well-earned farewell too.
