Funny and moving Christmas special.

Julia entertains her family at home, and also invites Liz and Kevin around.

Where's your fish kettle, it's next to my lobster teapot.....

I see this episode hasn't gone down too well with some, but I rather enjoyed it, definitely a few funny moments, and a few more.....serious moments.

I loved the scene with The Robin Hood hat, who on Earth guys someone millinery for Christmas, fair play it's absolutely hideous.

Julia was as stressed as ever, I loved that she spent the day in her onesie, it is just what people do to unwind. It's Liz who has the best idea about Christmas though, Netflix and chocolate.

Wow, it really did deliver some darker moments, Death has been used in sitcoms for years, who can forget The Kipper and The Corpse, the magical episode of Fawlty Towers, I thought it was pretty well handled.

Poor Amanda.

Touching and funny, hopefully not the end, 8/10.

Utterly depressing

This was a shockingly awful finale.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Motherland I know every word to every episode I have watched it so many times. The characters are usually full of banter, wit, and crass laughs. This flopped on every front.

This episode was so depressing! Christmas episodes are suppose to be funny and charming. This was horrifically sad, desolate and a horrible way to end a show. There were quite literally ZERO funny moments and no Motherland funny quips. Just everything about this was wrong and sad.

Poor show Motherland, most sincerely hope they produce another season so this one is undone!

Why?!!

Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love Motherland...It's hilarious and clever-I've watched it on repeat so many times. I was so excited for the new Christmas special, as I knew I'd be in for a treat.

However, it appears to be like all the other Christmas specials-it's was unnecessarily depressing. Can't we just have clever and funny comedy anymore and leave it as that. Why has comedy now got to be depressing too-it's meant to be escapism. After terrible couple of years can we stop with unneeded fictional deaths....such a shame. Hope series 4 (if we get one) goes back to the incredible previous form of the previous genius series and this is a one off joke that missed.
