Director Kat Coiro is on a roll when it comes to directing feature films. Her latest offering, “And While We Were Here” hit the festival circuit in 2012, and since then, Coiro’s completed two additional features (“Departure Date” and “A Case of You“). And the trailer for "And While We Were Here" has landed with some interesting changes since we first saw it.The film tells the story of a woman (Kate Bosworth) who finds love with a younger man (Jamie Blackley) while on an Italian vacation with her husband (Iddo Goldberg). The trailer desperately wants you to see the film through the lens of the great Italian directors such as Michelangelo Antonioni, with long walks near the water, reflective close-ups, and a thrilling ride on a Vespa. At the Tribeca Film Festival in April, Playlist writer Gabe Toro gave it a “B+” calling it “an affecting romance between a woman caught between two worlds.

Target is taking big strides into branded entertainment with the 12-minute short film "Falling Into You," which shows off more than 100 fall season fashion, home and beauty items, while starring the likes of Kristen Bell, Nia Long and Zachary Abel. The short is directed by regular "Mad Men" helmer Phil Abraham, and unspools in three parts. Part 1 releases online October 2. The film centers on two flirtatious Target employees (Bell and Abel), who compete with each other to create a campaign for the 2012 fall collection. As the episodes play, a sidebar of the featured items appears, which users can "heart" and share to social media sites. Parts 2 and 3 release October 4 and 9. Prestige narrative branded entertainment is becoming increasingly favored by major companies, as exemplified by the La Film Fest soft launch in June of Virgin Airlines' "Departure Date," starring Ben Feldman (also a "Mad Men" alum) and Janeane...

Just as "Mad Men" fans begin coming to terms with the fact that they won't be seeing the employees of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce for some time, Sir Richard Branson's airlines pop Michael Ginsburg into a new romantic comedy.
Virgin Airlines (Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia) debuted "Departure Date," a short film starring Ben Feldman (Ginsburg on "Mad Men") and Nicky Whelan as in-flight lovers. According to Ad Week, it's the first short to be filmed at 35,000 feet.
"Departure," which was produced by the airlines, ad agency Eleven and Virgin Produced (the company's in-house media arm), cost $1 million to make. Virgin is reportedly negotiating a TV deal for the ad/film. Kat Coiro ("L!fe Happens") directed, but the most interesting thing about the project is its unlikely list of supporting actors: Janeane Garofalo, Luis Guzman, Philip Baker Hall and Max Brown all make appearances in the short.
