Isn't everything to do with Bertram's connected?
Sleepin_Dragon5 July 2023
Having vanished, Canon Pennyfather is safely returned to Bertram's, but he's identified as one of the thieves on The Irish Mail Train. Tragedy strikes for someone at The Hotel, Miss Marple reveals exactly what's been happening at Bertram's.

A great conclusion, this is definitely worth an hour of your time. So much actually happens at that quaint English hotel, heists, infidelity and of course murder.

Fast paced, full of suspense and mystery, and it boasts a wonderfully memorable conclusion, what's not to love about this adaption, it's superior to the later Geraldine McEwan version.

Best scene of course is the big showdown, it works on every level, naturally there's a twist.

I had forgotten quite how late the actual murder comes, I've been so engrossed in the story of Bertram's and the doppelgangers, that I'd quite forgotten the actual murder.

I loved the music, I loved the visuals, it looks fantastic, it is truly superior to so many drama serials that followed. Blakiston gets to wear some fabulous clothes, her turquoise outfit is gorgeous.

Can't fault any of the acting, but for me it's Caroline Blakiston who steals the show, she's perfect, exactly as I picture the character from the book.

Very satisfying.

9/10.
