Warring households

Somewhat of a mixed blessing for a couple of reasons. On the one hand, you've got a meeting of the in-laws (Jonathan Banks and Glenne Headly) for Benn's and Leslie's engagement party, and that is pitch-perfect casting. But then there's Chris (Rob Lowe) and Ann (Rashida Jones) in the far weaker storyline; both have had stilted romantic lives, and both are the collateral damage from the writer's room spending all of its energy on the Ben-Leslie relationship.

But the engagement party is the most memorable aspect for good reason. Banks is terrifying, Headly is delightfully daffy, and no one can get along. The petty squabbles don't quit, the tension mounts, and it's pretty damn funny.

The only unbelievable part to all of this is how someone can insist on Red Vines over Twizzlers. Seriously.
