The differentiation between tyranny & equality.

In the second installment of "I Hate Suzie Too", expanding upon her previously established exploration of gender discrimination within society (& how women in the public eye are held to an unreasonably high standard, in comparison to their male counterparts), writer & co-creator Lucy Prebble masterfully captures that unreasonable disproportionality of public expectation here (portraying the toll this crippling weight of responsibility exacts upon their shoulders), using the talent competition featured in the series to essentially act as a representation of the country as a whole, analysing different roles each sex is supposed to play, considering male contestants invest very little effort to succeed (or remain on the same level), whereas women have to work twice as hard with ten times the scrutiny (& threat to their reputations) & even then, any success borne from the fruits of their labour is still met with indignation & scorn, from those who possess entitlement, for having been treated as equals, rather than inferiors. Poetically summarised, "it's a game" as one exclaims, who then ironically feels wronged for having been played - when it's no longer to his benefit. That shifting of the goalposts is precisely what the patriarchy is (a system rigged in men's favour) & the inventive manner in which Billie Piper, director Dawn Shadforth & those involved in this episode's creation realise this is nothing short of exceptional.
