Honestly...
tchitouniaram10 September 2019
Honestly...All 10 stars reviews are obviously fake...IMDB members of 1 day ... Sadly but it has became a norm ... The film itself is beyond salvage...3 stars for somewhat artistic camera work... Can't recommend it at all ...

Catchy Title For a Movie that is really Pretty Bad....
wandernn1-81-68327424 May 2020
-1 Star For the Complete Butchering of Psalm 23

-1 Star for No no no NO Umph at the end at all

Hey this movie is really a waste of time. There wasn't much going on through all of it and then really the last 1/3 is no payoff whatsoever.

This did well at some film festival? God the other entries in the festival must have been horrifyingly bad if this did well. And really you can't get much worst than this one.

Awful

Let me start by saying you can't have a flash back within a flash back. This movie was a drag. Nothing happens the entire time. The dialogue sounds like it was written by someone who doesn't understand the English language. The story never unfolds. The strange scenes of the past, the terrible Chinese accent, and the oddly racial tension in the past scenes makes you ask: what's the point? I suffered through this movie so you don't have to

Another wasted 90 minutes

I'd like to meet the people giving these movies high marks and praises, I'd like to punish them by making them watch this god awful movie over and over. I'll give it this one positive remark, it's a definite cure for insomnia. NOTHING happens but 3 or 4 people in a house talking. The scariest "special effects" are a marble and a can of dog food falling to the floor. OOOooooo

Fake reviews. Piece of crap movie!

Fake reviews. Waste of time. Go buy a can of paint instead and watch it dry. Better action there. Poor acting by all actors.

Bad, just Really Bad
surgicalrn9 July 2020
Terrible acting, ridiculous plot & not a horror movie, maybe a bad comedy. Stupid conversation regarding immigration for no reason. Gay guy"s acting was only good when he wasn't trying to sound gay. I can't say 1 good thing about this movie.

Was'nt much cop
marcusdavis4028 September 2019
I just got finished watching this movie .This is not a horror movie more like a supernatural drama of some sort.It was'nt in the least bit scary.I was waiting for something to happen and nothing really did .It looked good .It sets you up for something major but its just a big nothing. The actual story does'nt seem to go anywhere and whats with the ending? Is there a sequel to this .It looked like a glorified TV movie.I don't like giving negative feedback to films that people have put their effort to create, but i definetly know i can do something much better than this in the horror genre and i have done.I 'v written 2 books in the genre already ,i'm just waiting for the call for someone to make a movie out of them. As for this definitely pass on this one.

A by-the-numbers horror film with some really great technical work.
trublu21523 April 2015
I was lucky enough to catch a screening of Primrose Lane at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. While the festival was a blast, Primrose Lane was a bit of a let down. The film follows a couple who hole up in a remote house that happens to have nefarious elements within, leading the couple to a horrifying discovery. The story isn't anything groundbreaking or particularly memorable. Writer-director Kathleen Davison wears her influences on her sleeve and Primrose Lane demonstrates her ability to capture tension on screen but she falters in delivering the truly scary moments and this leads to the film having a very disappointing payoff. The performances are nothing to write home about, they're not bad but they're not particularly good either. The technical aspects of this film definitely are the strongest points here. The camera work is extremely well thought out and feels very professional in its execution; a nice color grade on it really captures the tone very well also. The lighting was also very well done and captured Davison's tone even further. Overall, Primrose Lane feels like it was made for die hard horror fans, especially those who seem to gravitate towards supernatural horror but, as a whole, the film didn't do it for me. Despite this, I feel that Kathleen Davison did demonstrate some great technical work that added to the suspense of the film and I look forward to see what else she has in store for us in the future.

Very lame
RobinFlys29 June 2020
Kathleen Davison needs to hire someone to do the acting for her. And the writing. And the directing. She is a truly bad actor. The whole movie is disjointed. Hal of this show should have ended up on the cutting room floor. It's one of those movies that's uncomfortable to watch because the acting and writing are so horrible. Three quarters of the way through there's a comedic converstation between Chee and Williams. I thought to myself, Wait! Is this supposed to be a comedy? No, it is not. I watched Primrose Lane to the bitter end, and as expected, it made no sense. Believe it or not I have seen worse movies. Three stars: 1 for Salty and Pepper, 1 for Chris Chee, and 1 for April Matson.

Your house is built on a crystal
nogodnomasters6 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The film is "inspired by actual events" whatever that now means. A couple gets a chance to buy a foreclosed house with furniture. They go to meet the realtors in the old Victorian and they are not there. Chris and Robin make themselves at home. We see the ghost of a child (see cover) in the background playing with a small ball or large marble. The realtors never show up, psychics are called in.

The dialogue was light, sort of like Leon Redbone, "I what to be seduced" whimsical. In spite of ghosts, there wasn't any horror, just a conversation about illegal immigration as it relates to China. April Matson and Richard Riehle provided fun characters. Almost a spoof of Poltergeist.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

What happened?
calink8925 March 2021
Just as it gets interesting it ends!!! Way too many unexplained happenings. You have to have a story, not just a series of unconnected events. Where are the great story tellers? Clearly not in this movie

Creepy, unearthly, beautiful - I want more!
rossbrendan7 September 2019
I love the way Kathleen Davison uses color, images, and pacing to keep the tension high throughout. I wish it had been longer! Would love to see this make the leap to TV with more time to explore the house, the portal, and the endless possibilities that could come from both.

i dont know........
sjalkarjadottir8 September 2019
In short - i would characterize this movie as : quite a mess. - i still give it 6/10 ... because i am not so sure it is because i am not a native English speaker and i watched the movie in English.

From a strictly visual point of view .. there are some very good visuals with excellent angle, colours and lights ... and there are really bad ones (like the effects when supernatural things happen .. that can only be described as a basic photoshop stock effect)

The acting is sometimes good, sometimes quirky and funny and sometimes .. well, not very good - but rather over-acted.

The characters themselves - i have to admit .. i really, really did not get them. Why they were they, who they were and what it was all about. So the whole movie was more a collection of disjointed scenes with very little cohesion.

I am sure there is a deeper meaning - but i guess it was lost in translation.

I liked this movie until the end. It just ended. It's slow and steady, but it kept me interested. The acting was pretty good, the direction was good. I don't know, I just really liked it. you should give it a try.

Amazing on Every Level!
MaryAnneKP8 September 2019
This movie was engaging and brilliantly written. The characters were relatable and very well played. I especially loved Wu and the perfectly adorable, yet utterly creepy, little boy who travels between the modern-day and Victorian-era timelines in a home where characters keep disappearing. Is he just an adorable little boy roaming the home or is he a dark spirit that is up to no good? What happens to everyone? Where do they go? The film keeps you on your toes and challenges your thoughts about time, spirituality, and destiny. I highly recommend everyone watch it. I hope there is more to come from these amazing filmmakers!!!!

Great Movie!!
MarielaVi8 September 2019
I really enjoyed watching this movie. The cute little boy gave me chills! I couldn't understand why the hell these characters stayed in that creepy house, but it would seem that they had to be there - we're all where we are for a reason, right? This film really makes you wonder about all of the creepy possibilities! How thick are the walls between the present and the past and what happens if the two should ever meet!? I loved it and am eager to know even more!

Well Done!
speriamo17 September 2019
I do not have any technical expertise in filmmaking, but I do know what I like and I liked this film. It was beautifully shot and the attention to past and present details was amazing. The house on Primrose Lane itself adds quite a bit to the suspense and Director Davison takes full advantage of this. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and the sense of imminent, unforeseen danger was palpable. I hope Kathleen Davison and her team are working on a follow-up or continuation of this theme. I know I will be on the lookout!

Wow!
Ang22118 September 2019
I watched this movie with my family. It was creepy but not gory or inappropriate at all. Everyone loved it! We agreed that it is a story that needs more time to be told! The writing is so brilliant, complex and witty. If it isn't already a book/movie series ... it should be!!! The main actress was also the film's writer, producer, and director! Amazing!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! It was a good story that can definitely be developed into so much more - and with this cast of characters it's easy to want more! The quality of the film itself was top notch! There is NO low budget vibe AT ALL!!! Masterfully produced!

I loved this movie and the production was outstanding. The camera work between scenes added to the intrigue of the film. The creepier the better I say and I was thoroughly satisfied. Will watch again highly recommended
