Le Marché aux poissons (1896)
This early film from the Lumiere Brothers takes place in what appears to be a shipyard or some sort of location, perhaps even a market. What we basically see is a bunch of people walking around, talking and looking at things. At just under a minute one obviously shouldn't be expecting some sort of plot or character development. These early "actuality" movies are of interest to me simply because they allow you to see how things really were in 1896. You see what people were doing, how they were dressed and these just show you a moment in time that is just fascinating to watch.
