this episode missed the mark

I agree with the other reviewer of this episode who thought something went wrong with the series in the episode titled Unplugged. The first 7 episodes were amusing and then all of a sudden this one really fell flat. for me there were zero laughs from a ridiculous scrip. I will watch a few more episodes and hope they improve. The acting was OK- Ellen Barkin is always in character as the NaNa - but Justin Bartha just doesn't convince. NeNe Leakes is so funny in this series that she deserves a show of her own. Andrew Rannells is getting better as the series goes along. I think a big problem for the show is comparisons to Modern Family which has superior acting and scripts.

Warning: Spoilers
Shania comes home from school to find her mom tired from being pregnant like she is. When Shania try's to dance Goldie turns off the music to go to sleep. Bryan and David call in help to get ready for having the baby. The help they call in is into pop culture as much as Bryan and the two talk keep checking their phones while David is watching them. The times goes off and they kill the fake baby. Jane and Rocky continue their lunches with them because surprisingly they have so much in common. Jane is getting classes for real estate. At dinner everyone cannot get off their technology devices. Goldie then makes them all go off them for a day a week. Jane seems shocked that Rocky is sex-ting. Jane sees a video of Bryan singing and puts it on twitter. While unplugged Shania challenges the others to not just give up technology but give up all modern things. When David goes off to the toilet he cheats by using a laptop. Bryan then sees that his video was put up online. The next day at work Bryan takes everyone's technology then giving it back to them when a new trending topic for him is more positive. Shania ends up beating her mom and going back to using her electronic devices. David tells Bryan that he really liked his video and will have to come up with something else for their wedding. I'm giving this show a tenth episode and If I find the line delivery as manual as it was tonight I'm giving up on the show.

EPISODE GRADE: E- (MVP: Bebe Wood)
