A monumental protest song by Plebe Rude, possibly their biggest hit, "Até Quando Esperar" is a true classic rock moment that defined the Brazilian rock of the 1980's along
with Titãs, Legião Urbana, Paralamas do Sucesso among others. It's a spectacle to the senses both as in sound just as in lyrics, one of the best ever made. And for the forementioned
reasons that this music video gets plenty of praise from me; as for the clip itself with image and quality, well, it's a somewhat watchable clip.
It's the typical group performing the song, without the addition of some story or some images to illustrate the points of view made by the song when it comes to its politically
charged lyrics. Plebe deals with income distribution, rich vs. Poor and the economical inbalance of society and images of such contrasts could be used to provide a point, even though
most viewers have access to news and all, but the song message could get stronger and get a wider appeal had it shown the reality of life. Instead, we have an usual band performance
on a strange location that seems to reflect the album idea (it's the same place from the album cover image). But we do have a memorable moment in the performance with lead singer
Philippe Seabra performing some wild dance movements. Lots of fun. And another downer is due to its quality of image, the version available is awfully poor, but maybe during re-runs
on TV they might have something better to show.
Still an awesome experience thanks to its immortal theme and its sound, everlasting through all those decades. 8/10.
