- Open with the gang facing down the helicopter and its high-powered guns. They race to safety in an abandoned diner and the copter promptly hits the building with a missile. The diner pretty much is destroyed and the chopper leaves. We see they found safety in the walk-in freezer.
In Philadelphia Tom tells Monroe no bodies were recovered. Monroe brings up the fact Tom let Miles get away at the prison. Monroe has other things on his mind and tells Tom it's time for them to put their new military superiority into play.
The group manages to get by security checkpoints hiding in coffins. Nora and Miles are still romantically involved. Rachel promises she'll give all of them an explanation about the necklaces in due time. They spot helicopters on their way to a militia camp.
Cut to the militia camp being cut to pieces by the helicopter's machine guns.
The gang arrives at the camp later and surveys the damage. Every militia member was killed. Nora thinks they need to go to rebel command and warn them what's coming. Aaron wants them to "go home," and Rachel tells him there will be no home to go to if they don't stop Monroe. Rachel thinks she'll be able to get the rebels' surface-to-air missiles. There is a former co-worker she wants to visit about getting power. Miles will be going with her.
We flash back to a year before the blackout. A very young Danny is getting a shot and Rachel helps keep him calm. An experimental procedure is being performed on Danny that sounds like it is that last hope for saving his life.
Tom and Jason look at the damage they've just caused at a particularly gruesome camp and discuss the collateral damage. Tom has captured a rebel and is trying to find the closest rebel base.
Nora leads the rest of them to the rebel base. Nicholas and Ramsey are in charge. It sounds like the rebels were planning to give up, but Charlie tells them they have an idea.
Miles tells Rachel he saw her body and says he'd never have left if he thought she was alive. He says everything that's happened is his fault and he apologizes.
Tom and his unit arrive at the rebel base. Tom spots Charlie walking around outside, smiles and wants Jason to order the air strike. Jason balks because of how many people are there. Tom thinks it's all about Charlie and that Jason has gotten soft. But Jason refuses to follow orders. This leads to father and son fighting one another. Tom gets the best of Jason and tells him "don't ever come home again."
Rachel arrives at the home of her friend, John. John says there has been total radio silence and she tells him about giving Monroe the amplifier. He takes her and Miles downstairs and shows him his arsenal.
Jason finds Charlie walking through the woods. He tells her his real name and gives her the head's up about the air strike. He's finished with the militia but she says he can't come with her.
John shows Miles and Rachel some of his toys. He tells Rachel that Randall got to both Grace and himself, just before shooting them with a "sonic canon."
We see Randall at some type of base of operations. Grace is trying to fix the elevator while being carefully observed by a man named Austin. Randall tells her he's leaving for a mission.
Charlie tells the rest of the rebels about the strike. Ramsey thinks they should make their stand and asks for volunteers to be the first line of defense against the choppers.
Rachel and Miles come to and find themselves tied to chairs. John says Randall will be there soon. He says that Randall "got into the tower" and is making him help him. Miles gets free and knocks John to the ground. He unties Rachel and they rush to grab weapons and leave.
Tom gives Monroe his report and Monroe orders the strike. He tells Monroe that Jason is dead.
Charlie thinks back to childhood and Danny having an asthma attack. She helped him through the attack. In present day she walks over to Danny and asks her brother not to be on the front lines when the choppers come. She says he owes her for traveling 1,000 miles to find him. He says he has to do it for himself.
The choppers arrive. They pause before opening fire and the rebels fire back. Nora manages to take out one of the machine gun operators and the choppers leave the scene briefly. One returns and starts cutting them down from a lower level. Miles and Rachel arrive just in time. Miles grabs and RPG and prepares to take out the chopper with the amplifier. At the last second the other chopper arrives and hits Miles' position with a missile. It knocks him violently backwards into a concrete wall. Daniel makes a break for the RPG and destroys one of the choppers. The other chopper loses power, but manages to hit Danny with four bullets in the chest before crashing.
Charlie tells a despondent Rachel there was nothing she could have done to stop Danny. And Charlie is now dead-set on finishing what Danny started.
Randall and John drive to Monroe's compound and offer their assistance.
The episode ends with a teary Rachel cutting into her son's stomach and pulling out a blinking electric device of some kind.
