The paragon algorithm square with hundreds of complex math formulas was actually drawn on set and on the same day of shooting. With just minor instructions from the director it was mainly Stacey Peterson, the film's wardrobe and makeup artist, who meticulously drew and wrote in various equations to create what would later be named the nightmare formula square - the central prop in the film.
