A film that stays with you

I think this is my first review. No spoilers - the summary says enough.

Wonderful acting, beautiful cinematography and an intriguing, haunting double storyline which merges near the end. As a debut film, this is superb work. The major characters – Helen, Johannes, Frances and Leon – all have great depth.

This is probably not a film for those who like a lot of action. It's slow moving, but necessarily so and the 2 hours 22 minutes never drags. I'm intrigued though that it was first shown at Sao Paolo Film Festival in 2013 while it doesn't seem to have gone on general release until 2015 (Germany) and it didn't reach Denmark until May 2016 - despite several film festival nominations and awards.
