This is my first korean drama I ever watch in my whole life. Actually I just pick out randomly because many of my friend said that korean drama is better. I just want to try one and suddenly Hong Gil Dong become my choice that I will not regret at all. Why? For a long time I don't ever sad when watching drama. Maybe because I always watch American show like The Walking Dead and Heroes but this thing really kill my heart, my tears flow like a flood. It started well with the introduction of the character, Hong Gil Dong who is always cheerful and unpredictable. From the start its so funny and hilarious and I cannot bear myself for not laugh. But, at the half of the show its happy momentum start going down when its getting more serious and dramatic. Its about Gil Dong who try to change his country to become more fair to poor and low class citizen by doing such a robin hood way and the fallen price who want his throne back. There is a subplot about Gil Dong love story with Yi Nok, but like I mentioned before its start going out of focus when they look to put too much effort on Gil Dong's love story till the remaining plot looks deserted. What I'm up to is audience will likely to ignore all the throne stuff because they more interested in Gil Dong's relationship which is the most waited scene. Because of that, many plothole come such as a weak reason for some important part when they just like to focus too much on the romance part. By the way, I still love this series because I'm so sad when this series ended and I wish they will make a sequel but they not. My tears leak again.
