• Mordred : Why don't you kill me?

  Morgana : My argument's not with you, Mordred. How could it be? We're of a kind.

  Merlin : My friends are safe and well, that's all I require.

  Merlin : [as The Dolma]  Oh... The gangly boy. Hmm...

  [Arthur unsheathes his sword and moves towards The Dolma] 

  Merlin : If you kill me, you'll never see him again. I am an old woman. Is it not natural I seek some surety? The boy will be returned to you when we have concluded our business.

• Mordred : You don't trust me, do you, Merlin?

  Merlin : fine knight.

  Mordred : But not one to be trusted.

  [Merlin listens but doesn't speak] 

  Mordred : It's alright. I know you have the King's best interests at heart. I only wish you'd believe that I do too. One day, I shall prove my loyalty to you and to the King. Then I hope we may be friends.

  [Mordred gives a sad small smile] 

  Merlin : [Not looking at him, but answering honestly]  I could wish for nothing more.

• Arthur : I'm sorry I didn't confide in you.

  Mordred : It's best you didn't. If I hadn't had my suspicions, I wouldn't have followed you. Merlin acting strangely...

  Arthur : Is that so unusual?

  Mordred : And the levy route being changed.

  Arthur : You had a funny feeling.

  Mordred : My Lord?

  Arthur : I'm glad that you did, Mordred.
