- Emma and Henry accompany Gold on his quest to find his son, while Mary Margaret, David and Leroy deal with a vengeful giant, as flashbacks detail information about his life.
- Mr. Gold and Emma, accompanied by Henry, depart on their journey. Back in Storybrooke, Mary Margaret, David, and Leroy stumble upon Anton, the giant, who is out to murder David. - (For the sake of distinguishing between the Giant (Jorge Garcia) in the Enchanted Forest and his present day Storybrooke self, he'll be Anton in Storybrooke and Tiny in the Enchanted Past.).
In present day Storybrooke: Mr. Gold knocks on Mary Margaret's door. Emma answers and tells Gold that Henry must come along or she won't go. Gold reluctantly agrees. David asks Gold not to let any harm come to Emma and Henry. Gold asks if it's a threat, David says it's a request as Gold is traveling with his family. Gold promises not to let anything happen to Emma and Henry. Cut to Gold, Emma, and Henry in a car. As they cross the town line, Emma asks Gold if he remembers. He says, "My name is Rumpelstiltskin and we are going to find my son".
Title screen: A giant tears a tree out of the ground, his face unseen.
David's about to leave the apartment so he can find Hook to figure out what Cora is planning. He opens the door to see that Regina is in hallway. Regina says that she didn't kill Dr. Hopper (Jiminy Cricket). David and Mary Margaret tell her that Archie is alive and that she was framed. When Regina asks who framed her, they tell Regina that her mother, Cora, did. Regina pretends not to understand how Cora made it to Storybrooke and asks to see Henry so that she can protect him. Mary Margaret and David tell Regina that Henry left town with Emma and Gold. Regina asks why no one told her and Mary Margaret says that no one knew where Regina was. She asks Regina since when did Emma have to run things by her? Regina thanks them and leaves.
Mary Margaret, David, Leroy and Hook go to the dock. Hook leads them onto his invisible ship. Leroy asks Hook since he sailed the ship from the Enchanted Forest, could he sail the ship back? Hook says it would require a portal. David asks if there's anything Cora was going to use. Hook says Cora's plans require "what's in here," while tapping his hook on an object covered by a curtain. David takes the curtain off the object, revealing a cage with Anton sleeping inside.
In the Enchanted Past: Tiny sits at a table with other giants. Arlo, the presumptive leader of the giants says that after a century of labor, the bean harvest has finally come. The giants toast to the harvest. As he's toasting, Tiny drops a golden harp. Arlo says that it is bad to associate with humans because humans tried to conquer all, not content with travelling between lands, they conquered and destroyed. He says that humans cannot know giants still exist. Tiny says that there's no point in harvesting beans if no one uses them. Arlo says it is not about using the beans, but the labor. Another giant messes with the harp, breaking it. Tiny runs away from the table and begins climbing down the beanstalk to the human world.
In Present Day Storybrooke: David asks why the giant is here. Hook doesn't know, says they should wake him up and ask him. Mary Margaret asks Anton's name. Anton sees David and says "you". "Me," says David. The giant tackles David and says he remembers what he did. Mary Margaret shoots an arrow near Anton. Anton says David will pay for his evil.
Cut to Belle watching TV. Ruby talks to her, asking, "You don't remember me, do you?" Ruby tells Belle her name, mentioning how Belle always went to the diner. She gives Belle a copy of Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island, which she says is Belle's favorite book. Belle thanks Ruby and asks if they were really friends. Belle asks Ruby for the truth. She saw a ball of fire and the man healed him. Ruby lies and says that the tranquilizers cause Belle to think she saw something. Belle says no. Ruby says "Belle." Belle doesn't understand why everyone calls her that. As Belle becomes very agitated, the nurse comes in and sedates her. Greg comes in and asks if everything is all right. Ruby says everything is fine and asks how Greg is. Greg says he is fine. Ruby says good, maybe he can leave their little town soon.
Mary aMargaret asks David why the giant said he would make David pay and for what? David says he doesn't know and that's the first time he ever saw Anton.
In the Enchanted Past: David's twin, Prince James, is flirting with a girl. King George interrupts and tells James of a giant. James says that he thought giants were extinct. King George says that they can use this giant to their advantage, so they should not kill the giant.
In Present Day Storybrooke: "He thinks you're your brother." says Mary Margaret. David agrees and asks Leroy to assemble the dwarves.
In the Enchanted Past: Anton's looking in the window of the bar. He turns to walk away when he sees James. He talks to James, saying that he's fascinated by humans. He is too big for a human, too small for a giant. Girl has a piece of the caterpillar's magic mushroom from Wonderland. Tiny thanks her for kindness and asks their names The girl says, "Jacquelyn but, most people call me Jack."
At Boston's Logan International Airport: Mr. Gold has never been outside of Storybrooke, Henry annoys Gold with questions. Emma tells Gold he has to put his scarf in the bin. He refuses because he is afraid he'll lose his memory. Emma says she'll help him. Gold does it and walks through the metal detector. Gold looks around confusedly.
Hook in alley, Regina appears. Regina says she and Cora have made amends. She tells Hook she needs her things. Good news, Hook says; the giant escaped. And with one look at David, the giant turned murderous.
Anton is walking through Present Day Storybrooke.
In the Enchanted Past: a human-sized Tiny enters the bar with Jack and James. Jack says it sounds like the giants don't appreciate him but Tiny says its good, except for name calling, etc. Jack and James say that he can be part of their family. Listening to the music, Tiny tells them he had a harp, but he didn't know they made such beautiful music. Tiny says that humans are good. Hears an argument, Jack says that the kingdom is in debt and will be burned if they don't pay back debt, saying that a magic bean would do it, Tiny says that he has gold. After all, he says, "If I'm going to live here I might as well make sure it's a nice kingdom, not a burned to the ground kingdom". Jack kisses Tiny on the cheek and says that he's a hero.
In Present Day Storybrooke: Regina goes to Anton. "I hear you're in town because you want to kill someone." She gives him a piece of the other side of the mushroom to make him grow larger so he can get revenge on the Prince. He eats it and grows into a giant again as Regina laughs, "now get to work, as you know that mushroom won't last forever"
Cut to Gold and Emma at the airport. "Something wrong?" asks Emma. "Stop asking me that!" yells Gold. Gold goes to the restroom. He paces in stall and punches a metal container. His knuckles bleed, and when he tries to use magic to heal his hand, it doesn't work. Henry calls for Gold, saying they are boarding soon.
In the Enchanted Past: Tiny is taking gold from his house. Arlo asks where he was, saying that they were worried. Tiny says he needed to go away. He tells Arlo he's found some friends. Arlo says that humans won't accept him. Tiny plans to go and live with humans for good.
In Present Day Storybrooke: Anton is destroying the town. David tells him to stop. Anton says that James destroyed everything in his life, and now he'll know how it feels. David tells Anton that James is dead. Mary Margaret says they're all friends and because of Anton, she and Emma were able to return to Storybrooke. Anton says that he'll believe them if Emma says that they're all right. Mary Margaret says that Emma's out of town and Anton finds it convenient that everyone he wants to talk to is not there. All humans do is lie and cheat and kill he says, as he begins to chase them.
In the Enchanted Past: "Humans, kill them." says Arlo. Tiny says "No! they're my friends." He says that Jack and James didn't need to come because he has the treasure. Jack tells Tiny that they aren't there for the treasure, but for the beans. Arlo says that giants are peaceful, but they will fight to defend what's theirs. Jack and James pull their swords and run towards the giants.
Cut to Leroy, David and Mary Margaret running away. David tries to talk to Anton. David says he will surrender himself if Anton will spare everyone else. Anton accepts and a deal is struck. He runs toward David to crush him and falls through the ground. Anton turns human-sized again, as the power of the mushroom has worn off. He holds on to a large pipe so as not fall to his death.
In the Enchanted Past: Tiny thinks he ruined everything. Abraham and others fell. Arlo says that the humans have poisoned words and that Tiny must destroy the beans.
In Present Day Storybrooke: Leroy, David and Mary Margaret throw a rope to Anton. Mary Margaret and David kiss. David goes down with the rope into the hole to save Anton. He tells Anton to take his hand. Anton says that he doesn't want to go up and that he should let go because maybe dying is less painful. David said if he believed that, he would have let go already. David convinces him to grab his hand. "You saved my life." "That's what we do."
In the Enchanted Past: the main giant is hit with a sword. He stabs Jack. James steals the gold. Jack calls for James' help but James refuses and runs off with his bag of gold. The main giant dying, as is Jack. Tiny destroyed the beans. Main Giant gives Tiny a small container with a seedling from the stalk to make beans. Just before he dies, the Main giant tells Tiny perhaps he can grow beans again in a new land. Tiny sad.
In Present Day Storybrooke: Leroy, Anton, Ruby, Granny at Granny's Diner. They say it's the perfect place to stay. Anton asks if they ever think of going home. He also asks how the local land is for farming. Anton shows off the container with the seedling. They'll be able to grow magic beans again, to go home.
Anton finds a field and says beans should grow well there. He says the problem is Cora, that she must want the beans. The dwarves begin digging the soil for Anton to plant. David and Leroy promise that they won't let Cora get them. Anton gets a pick axe and its handle suddenly reads "Tiny". David asks why the pick he used didn't get a name when he was working in the mines with the dwarves. "You're not a dwarf," Leroy says.
Greg Mendell talks to Belle, telling her that he drove the car that hit Hook. Mendell says he heard Belle talk about the fire. Mendell reveals that he also saw the ball of fire, and assures her that she isn't crazy.
Cut to Mary Margaret and David drinking coffee. David wonders what would have happened to him if he'd been raised by King George. Mary Margaret says their hearts were different so she knows it would have been fine. She says it was fun almost being killed. She misses adventures. Mary Margaret isn't sure about leaving Storybrooke. She doesn't know if Emma and Henry will want to go. David is sure they are safe.
Cut to Henry, Emma, and Gold seated on the plane. Gold's injured hand is bandaged. He is trying to hide the look of fear (of flying) on his face. Emma says it will be all right; they will find Gold's son.
