Denise Woods is a dogged rookie Detective, set in 1985 when times for women in the Police were very different, she was treated as a Doris, a plodder, she had to break the rules to get the smallest amount of respect.
DCI Ferguson is a bit of a pig, the way he tears Denise off a strip, what a monster.
It's such an interesting format, 1985 gives us amazing music and riots, it looks and sounds terrific.
Atwell is marvellous. 8/10.
