Real or Not, Zak Knew How to Tell a Story
sneakyshooter24 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
We can debate all day about the validity of Zak and Nick's evidence they captured, but thats not why I'm here giving it a high review. The editing and pacing of this documentary is what gave these guys thier extreme rise in popularity.

Its really unfortunate that the television show of the same name and cast was not able to follow suit with the same tone as the documentary. It seems obvious to me that Travel Channel execs told them to spice things up and over edit every scene to death with spooky music. But this documentary has very little of that.

The editing is great because it is very minimal. Zak understood the importance of letting the dead silence of a creepy location set the tone. It lets your imagination run wild, and thats what ultimatley scares the viewer. Just imagining what could be at the end of a dark tunnel can give you the chills. No corny reenactments with bad acting, or "spooky" musical stings. Just two men making a guerilla style documentary of the paranormal.

Like I mentioned earlier, the pacing is great as well. On one hand, it leads me to believe that everything was staged. The pacing is just too perfect. First, small noises, knocks, a shadow in the hallway, then ends with a bang, a brick being levitated on camera. If it wasnt for the charisma and true fear of the people involved, I would 100% certain it was fake.

But at the end of the day these guys really believe what they are seeing. Their sheer terror and jumping out of the second floor window is borderline embarassing, and I somehow doubt they would have scripted that part in. But fake or not, its highly entertaining. I would say give it a watch.

Have been marathoning this show for the last month and I just love it. You can just tell that they were just three regular dudes in the beginning and that's when the show was at its best. I feel like Zak definitely has a strong personality and he is so serious which comes across as so funny all the time. The way he talks I feel like we all knew someone like him in high school. He just reminds me of a 16 year old who never grew up. They are all just super average dudes and I adore them. Everyone is too hard on Zak, I think that's just who he is. It's his personality and it doesn't change too much throughout the show.

I think a lot of their evidence is pretty compelling and they try their best to explain what they are doing. I like the realism of just having a few people with cameras instead of a huge crew. They were kinda cutting edge with the technology of the time. The show loses a little bit of its realism as time goes on and they add dramatic scenes and "creepy music" that kinda takes away a bit of the vibe but it gets toned down again later.

Sometimes I wonder if these spirits are at these locations or if they just follow the crew around. I feel like Zaks blood is made of ectoplasm.

Anyways, goofy dudes, some compelling evidence, lots of lols over Zak and some of the cringe stuff they say to spirits. It's a good time and a little spooky. Sad to see all the hate. You put too much expectation on these regular dudes it's not like they are scientists they are just out there trying to learn about the afterlife and trying to collect some evidence to prove something does exist. And they definitely have done that. Their episodes of the Goldfield hotel when the rock is thrown and the communication with the little girl spirit are some really good examples. And the Apparition captured at Bobby Mackeys. There are so many good ones I should have made a list. Maybe I can come back and edit this sometime.

They literally set the standard for ghost hunting shows
zachwl1 September 2019
I think their over 200 episodes, over 40 specials, and cult following speaks for itself. Been watching these guys from this documentary all the way to the newest episode. If you're into ghost hunting shows these guys are the crew for you. If you don't believe in ghost or aren't into the shows then seriously your opinion is irrelevant lol

Scariest Documentary, I have ever seen.
s-garner6217 October 2018
I have been a avid Ghost Adventures fan since I stumbled upon it, on Netflix. When I heard about the documentary, I immediately rented it; and after watching it literally made me uneasy but in a good way. I highly recommend it to whomever is a skeptic and doesn't believe in the supernatural.

Scariest documentary that I have ever seen.
GreenApplesss28 February 2018
I have been watching their show for about 6 years now. This documentary before their tv show is the best and still scares me till today. Whether you are a skeptic or not, you will get scared sh*tless. Their reactions scared me too, like they are crying for help to get out of that place. I know even though you don't believe because you haven't been experienced something like this, even myself I don't. But, After watching this documentary, made me believe that they are real. After this documentary, they've been all over the news that saying they proved it. Remember, Science can't explain everything, We don't know what's the fact and the truth. We don't know anything why do they exists in the first place. This documentary is the most scariest documentary that I have watched, better than the true-story Horror Films today. Give this a shot, whether you are a believer or a non-believer. For me, It's entertaining, and it's scary as hell.

Where to watch Ghost Adventures
kparkslpn6 December 2022
You can watch it on travel channel and also watch it on discovery plus. Discovery plus has every episode from every season except 10 for some reason. And FYI- they don't necessarily follow the order of some sites on what season the episode aired. This is the best show and I encourage anyone with even a little curiosity about the other side to watch it. It's actually one of the things my son and I do together. If i watch without him he gets mad. I can't believe how many places have such strong ghost activity. One is within an hour of my home in Guthrie Oklahoma and I wanna go but my son is scared.

What on earth?
asharmbers11 June 2022
I think this crew need to sit down one night together, watch 3 x their early episodes, then watch a couple of the latest ones and see if they too can see what's happened to them.

Although, even in season 20, i laughed so hard at MANY episodes where Paranormal investigators (mostly Aaron) were running away form anything paranormal happening or refusing to be in paranormal areas... isn't that their job? The reason for being there? Also, will they please stop talking over every paranormal activity!!!! Are not you supposed to listen? These guys are too 'excitable' and drama it all up to oblivion.... while running away!

Take my advice, go watch a program called 'Alaska triangle' there is a man there called Jeff Richards who is an intuitive, HE knows how to do a paranormal investigation. This team could learn a lot from him.

Zak and the boys used to be a TEAM, there they were, with their quote 'old school' devices, a camcorder each, and all alone in haunted areas.. all working together as one.... now? They have a film crew following them around, completely rude to not only the dead, but each other too.

Zak, you are now an elitist, treating everyone as inferior, you talk down to everyone, Billy, wtf happened to you? You are just some moody man now with an attitude, and Aaron, why to you drama up so much?

Also, it needs to be said, not every spirit is evil.. Zak, you are an empath, SO AM I, about time you started to be more empathic, do not abuse or embellish on your 'gift', after all, a medium you are not. However, due to your insight, you will probably already know that a person without their body is pure energy, that pure energy, when close to us, makes us feel a certain way (like intense butterflies, and the very air around you feels heavy) , each person has different energy levels alive or dead, and like a bodied person, you meet strong and weak people all the time, no different when you pass... not everyone is evil, a stronger energy just means they have a stronger energy, and a stronger does not mean evil, even if it does make you feel uncomfortable, as their energy meeting your energy has that side effect, you are an investigator, this is low level standard stuff you should be knowing. And you show TOTAL disrespect to the dead soo often.

The dead, they are us... just without a body, the same as we will be some day. If you spoke to me like that i would react harshly, its absolutely shocking how insensitive and bad mannered this team are to the dead. Just because someone is dead, it does not make them a demon. Stop calling almost every dead person evil.. especially little girls. These kids are scared enough without you being so crass to them.

"Ghost Adventures: Cecil Hotel" Only concentrate Lamb and Ramirez how about the others
kerobin20 May 2021
I sat down to watch this episodes as Cecil Hotel has a reputation for many Deaths and two murders has stayed there Richard Ramirez and Jack Unterweger and of course elsa Lamb Death this episode only stayed on Lamb and Ramirez as the ghosts surely with all the other deaths and that at the hotel they can't be the only two ghosts that haunt the place but the episode only did those two as ghosts what the other ghosts in the place they didn't pick up they can't be good at there jobs if they only can pick up those two and really lamb did die there but. Ramirez died in Prison so why would he be haunting that motel he only stayed there he didn't kill there i disappointed in the episode there is so many other Deaths that are in the hotel surely they could of picked up more than the two most popular ones.

cm-0587816 January 2019
Good grief this is not scary at all. All this Zak guy is trying to do get a cheap scare tatic or a jump scare. The narration is also horrible.
