This TV movie is inspired by actual events that occurred back in 1979. The case of Robert Boulin's mysterious death; a so called suicide in 46 inch of water...A honest man who was set up by his fellow politician friends and who had nothing more to lose, to expose the whole truth about their never ending swindles, state scale frauds. The most important politicians of this era were involved, not officially of course, in this "suicide". Even the gendarmes, who discovered the corpse, were discharged of the case, and the police force took it and buried it. Robert Boulin became the man to be shot on sight, because of explosive files he threatened to expose to the public...

Typical politic french drama.

The actor who plays here Jacques Foccart, the famous Charles De Gaulle "shadow" counsellor, the chief of an army of ghost killers working for the undercover french foreign - African - affairs, this actor - check on the cast list - often, if not always, plays politicians, high rate magistrates or head executives. He has the overall face and attitude for it.

The notorious public enemy number one, Jacques Mesrine, was executed a couple of days later as a diversion, to let the public "forget" the Robert Boulin's death.
