Roku and Fifth Season have inked an international distribution partnership for select Roku unscripted original TV series and movies, the companies announced Wednesday.
Under the deal, the “Severance” producer will exclusively manage the sale of select Roku unscripted projects’ international rights, excluding the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, with Fifth Season serving as Roku’s international format and tape distribution partner for the slate of content.
Roku original projects listed in the initial slate include Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis’ “Honest Renovations,” survival competition series “Fight to Survive,” “Morimoto’s Sushi Master,” “Celebrity Family Food Battle,” which features Sofia Vergara as an executive producer and Manolo Vergara as a host, Jay Brewer’s “Reptile Royalty” and “The Cupcake Guys,” which features football veterans Brian “Rak” Orakpo and Michael “Griff” Griffin. Fifth Season and Roku have struck an unscripted international distribution deal.
Fifth Season will shop the likes of Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis’ Honest Renovations, all-star survivalist competition Fight to Survive and Morimoto’s Sushi Master outside of the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Further titles are set to be added and the Korean media company has invested in and will handle exclusive worldwide rights to Roku projects.

Last season, in preparation for being sold, The CW cancelled half of its scripted shows and announced that two others would be ending during the 2022-23 season. Nexstar, the network's new owner, has indicated that The CW will be airing shows with smaller production budgets and/or acquired or syndicated series. After the 8 p.m. airing of “America’s Got Talent,” “That’s My Jam” earned a 0.25 rating and drew in 1.86 total viewers at 10 p.m., boosting NBC to nab the highest rating — with an average 0.49 rating — as well as the highest viewership of the broadcasters with an average 4.5 million total viewers.
