A web search for a painting with the nickname "The Alchemist" would turn up the actual painting. This is immaterial since the painting called "Lady and Gentleman With Flagon" does not exist. However, a painting called "The Alchemist" (by Cornelis Bega in 1663) is currently located at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Another painting, "The Alchemist Discovering Phosphorus" (by Joseph Wright in 1771) hangs at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery in England.
