Exhausted after holding numerous auditions, with only as few as 1-2 attendees, Brian Patrick and Dana Porcalla, attempted one last casting call. They were pleasantly surprised, when a group of theater and indie movie actors responded and flocked to their audition space. With Anthea Murfet as the exception, they found 99% of the entire cast in one day.
The first version of Chasing Fire was roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
A total of 15 scenes were cut from the movie.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the movie took almost 4 years to make.
The production suffered a major setback after Typhoon Ketsana flooded the entire Metro Manila in October 2009; postponing principal photography for almost 4 months.
