- In a surreal world where a sinister force requires everyone to 'keep the silence", the residents of Edifice 129 have been isolated for so long they can't be sure of anything
- Edifice 129 is a unique and extraordinary collaborative project - not an anthology but one narrative work created by multiple auteurs across three countries. In the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic lock-downs , Linda Gasser - director of the Arc Film Festival in Mainz, Germany - invited filmmakers / alumni of the festival to join her Creatives Across Borders initiative. The original aim was to meet via Zoom, support each other during that difficult time, and talk film, but talking film soon turned to developing a film. Bringing together four writer/directors and a digital 3D artist, the resulting film is made up of five short films that were designed to work both as standalone projects and when woven / inter-cut into each other to form one story, which gives the impression that the whole film was shot in one location, at one time, despite being filmed in multiple countries (Germany, UK and Malta) and the filmmakers never having met in person.—Kaz Anstee
