Always been a fan and like the way they tackle things of that time but found this one to be just a bit too far fetched. Ie a man waving a gun a a window while everyone stands in the street below with not a care in the world. Unnecessary and unbelievable.if they really wanted it in they should have at least made it more realistic. Also feel it's getting a bit too pc which it wasn't in the day especially coming up to the 1970.s. Just my opinion but disappointed in this one compared to the earlier episodes which i thought were really good . Think it will struggle now as a lot of viewers will of experienced these times.

Rosie Jones surprised me! I love her comedy and I think she is wicked quick I did not know, she was a great actress as well. I was pleasantly surprised, and her performance gave me another reason to think she is one of the coolest humans alive right now.

As for others bashing the way things were handled satating it wasnt realistic...well...how in the world would we know that given we arent living in that time. No, that wouldn't happen in this day and age but considering this wasnt something that *did* regularly occur, how WOULD people truly behave. Not with their executive functioning enabled, that is for sure.

The show continues with deeper dialogue and wholesome goodness.

Four?!

Warning: Spoilers
To introduce one new midwife is a risk, it might upset the long-established status quo of the show.

To introduce four all in one go takes this show into 'jump the shark' territory. It suddenly feels like a spin-off.

Quite why they've done this I don't know. For the sake of new stories? Each of the four newbies can have an episode dedicated to them? Have another about Nonnatus House being faced with closure, another about Sister Monica Joan nearly dying and you've got a six part series?

This was fine, it all felt very familiar and nice and twee. The BBC sit back in their chairs, happy with the money spent. But I'm not sure how long this show can keep pressing the same old emotional buttons and expecting new tunes.
