Warning: Spoilers
As a sports fan I feel like there was so much untapped potential with the idea of an announcer following Nell around.

This show had a lot of potential around it, but it has continued to miss the mark and has just fallen off in terms of hooking me in at all.

I feel like they "relaxed" too quickly and are going for that New Girl/Parks and Recreation vibe at the expense of actually telling compelling stories for the viewer to follow.

We'll see how the rest of the season shapes up, and I really want to like this show, but it feels like Not Dead Yet keeps pushing back and gives me reasons to doubt it.

ANOTHER terrible episode written by a dude
orian12 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
1) so of course instead of actually writing for the female protagonist & expanding HER story, this male writer turns Nell into a daddy's girl tomboy that all of a sudden loves baseball after showing heretofore ZERO interest in sports (and probably never again) to make this episode about HIMSELF.

2) said lazy writer does terrible female dialogue, includes lazy stereotypes of bad/distracted female drivers, poor people steal, daughters are too intimidated to stand up to fathers, oh and gay men are just generally afraid. Lazy, lazy, lazy!

3) Also lazy is talking about layoffs as just some rich daddy drama instead of any grounding in real financials. Yes, dry material but good writers can find fun story in day-to-day realities. This writer is NOT a good one.

This is easily one of the worst episodes of the series. Oh and by the way, now not only does Nell have rich friend Cricket; sort of rich friend, Sam, & by extension, in a pinch, rich friend Lexi; but now her parents are at least semi-rich restauranteurs. More lazy writers making sure NEVER to have to REALLY write about sad poor people topics, ugh! No this episode took Nell from someone I was rooting for to just another spoiled rich girl I pretty much hate. Thank you Mr. Lazy Male Writer.
