Warning: Spoilers
Great smother by Athorn on the half-forward line. Minton-Connell with three 1st-quarter goals. O'Sullivan kicks a nice goal for his second and the Blues take an 11-point lead to the quarter break. Kernahan takes a good pack mark and converts, before Sydney kick a flurry of goals. Gotta love the on-ball and off-ball brutality, like it's WWF wresting, gotta be tough to play in this era. Commentators, cheerleaders, everything's just better. Kernahan takes another strong grab and slots his third from distance. The Swans up 19 at the half, in a tough contest. Minton-Connell kicks his sixth and Sydney get out to a sizeable lead. Dorotich with a snap on goal for the Blues and kicks three for the term, bring the Blues back into it. Nettelbeck providing a good half-forward marking option all day for Sydney. The Swans up 7 going into the final term. Bradley influential, puts Carlton ahead. Nettelbeck's put back quell Dorotich and does a terrific job. Athorn goals from the boundary to seal it for the Blues, home by 9 points, in an excellent game of footy. Carlton won the hit-outs, but Sydney had much more of the footy. The Blues with 3 more scoring shots though, both kicking accurately on goal. Kernahan best afield, with 7 marks and 6 goals. Bradley 27 disposals, 4 tackles and 2 goals. Dorotich 18 disposals, 5 marks and 4 goals. Athorn 20 disposals and a goal. For the Swans, Nettelbeck 21 disposals and 8 marks. Minton-Connell 6 marks and 7 goals. Lewis 22 disposals and 2 goals.

3. (Carl) S. Kernahan, 2. (Syd) C. Nettelb-k, 1. (Carl) C. Bradley.
