Little Richard: I Am Everything was among the nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards’ Best Music Film, with the nomination marking the first-ever for both the “Architect of Rock and Roll” and production company Rolling Stone Films (yes, this Rolling Stone).
The film, directed by Lisa Cortés and executive produced by Dee Rees, delved into the musical genius and transgressive power of the pioneer, who laid the foundation for rock music with singles like “Tutti Frutti” and “Long Tall Sally.”

I haven’t got to the point where any of this feels normal to me yet,” says Lewis Capaldi. He points out that we’re speaking “six years, to the day” since he released his first single, “Bruises”, which quickly racked up 28 million plays on Spotify, making the Glaswegian the fastest unsigned artist to reach 25 million streams on the platform. The following year he wrote a song about the loss of his grandmother – “Someone You Loved” – that would be streamed a staggering 2.8 billion times.
Now “Forget Me” – the lead single from his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent – has turned platinum in the UK, and he’s still finding his success “just... pfffft... just f***ing bizarre, y’know? I don’t think it will ever feel normal.”

Netflix has released its Top 10 for the week of March 27, and it was little to no surprise that Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston‘s comedy sequel “Murder Mystery 2” entered the English language films chart in first place. After all, the original 2019 movie was such a huge hit for Netflix.
The action-comedy sequel entered the charts with 64.4 million hours viewed, the second-biggest launch for a comedy film with 42 million views, appearing in the Top 10 in 91 countries with it being the #1 movie in more than 60 of those countries.
Right behind it was the original “Murder Mystery” with 24.7 million hours viewed globally, and the previous #1 movie “Luther: The Fallen Sun” with 12.7 million viewing hours. The lack of strong family films in theaters allowed four animated films to get into the Top 10 with Netflix’s “The Magician’s Elephant” leading the pack with 6.3 million viewing hours.

About halfway through Joe Pearlman’s “Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now,” the Scottish pop star sets about crafting his second album. As he takes us into his songwriting process, he all but winks at the camera before walking through the ways this sort of thing tends to play out in other music documentaries: he’ll write the song, huff and puff over if it will be a hit, and we’ll suddenly fast-forward to a year later, when he’ll be playing the now-massive hit to sold-out crowds. Capaldi waits a beat. So does the film. Oh, no cutting ahead to the inevitable success? Ha! Back to the grind, it is.

The Scottish singer-songwriter has collaborated with Netflix for a candid new documentary, Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.
As well as documenting the making of his second album, the film delves into Capaldi’s home and family life, and his struggles with mental health.
At several points, the “Someone You Loved” vocalist is frank about how achieving fame has resulted in additional creative pressures.
“I’m not confident in my abilities as a songwriter, and I think it’s got worse, the more successful I’ve got,” he admitted.
Capaldi also broached the topic of impostor syndrome. He explained that, after Capaldi had discussed his feelings of inadequacy over beers with Ed Sheeran, John got in touch with some encouraging words.

So many great stories in history start out with the key players hating each other — as it is in Netflix and A24’s “Beef,” streaming on Netflix in April. Amy (Ali Wong) and Danny (Steven Yeun) meet via parking lot bump turned action-movie car chase, their lives connecting and their road rage lingering in weeks and months after the incident. In reviewing the series, IndieWire’s Ben Travers said that “’Beef’ does a fine job balancing Amy and Danny’s practical intelligence and impractical passions; their bitterness toward the other driver ebbs and flows as their personal lives better or worsen, and it’s in these moments that the half-hour drama thrives.”
