Down, Not Out

Warning: Spoilers
Charlie 1 is down folks! Charlie 1 is down! Jane is taken and tortured by Adrian Creel, who she thought was killed in a car bomb explosion years ago. Turns out he survived, and he wants payback. Thankfully, Jane escapes with help from Kate and Sam Hanna (I was not expecting him to come in and help out!) Jane is then reunited with her team, and they proceed to find Adrian and figure out what he wants. Turns out, Jane's mentor, Maggie Shaw, is involved in this ordeal and she has to help them bring Adrian out of hiding. Adrian needs more money from shadow accounts to go into hiding. Jane and Maggie find and take out Adrian, through unconventional methods, but Maggie escapes from the authorities. Will we see her again in Season 3? I would go with a definite "Yes". Also, it sounds like we're getting an existing character from NCIS: LA. Who's it going to be?

This series is starting to grow on me. It started off slow, but I am enjoying this show. Now to talk about the one issue I had with this episode, and it establishes who my least favorite character is. That would be Lucy Tara. Before I begin and before you start shooting me down with your homophobic rants, I want to make things clear that I will NOT BE making any homophobic comments about her. Her sexuality is NOT the reason why she's my least favorite character. There was a moment in this episode where I went, "Really, Lucy?" When Kate calls the team to explain that the situation down in South America went sideways, Lucy starts giving her compliments like, "Oh, you're such a beautiful agent in these situations." Lucy, your boss is in trouble, and you compliment your girlfriend? Where the heck did this come from? I'm a little ticked that Kate didn't even say, "Lucy, I appreciate the comment, but can it wait until this is over?" Good to know Lucy is worried about her girlfriend's beauty rather than the safety of her boss. I think Lucy has always been my least favorite character since the start of the show. When she went overseas for that special assignment, I actually enjoyed the episodes without her. I thought Kate would be my least favorite character, especially when we first met her at the start of the series. But she's growing on me and I love how she's willing to help out NCIS in any way. Will Lucy be more tolerable to me in later seasons? Maybe, maybe not.

Other than that, this episode was a great Season Finale. Looking forward to Season 3! 7.9/10.

Left with questions..

Warning: Spoilers
I am not a fan of the 'lone wolf' routine. Especially when it concerns the boss and that same boss wants her team to act as a team.

That could be made up for with a very strong story. I mean if there's a really good reason... well bring it on.

Unfortunately I can't find that reason at all. At the end of the two episodes it is by no means clear to me why Tennant's trip with Kate to Caracas had to be secret. Or why she couldn't tell anyone about Creel. And least of all why she had to chain Kate to a post. (???) I understand that certain things were classified, but you can still tell the outlines or even say it's classified.

But we're not done yet. Only just saved by your team because your own plan turned out not to well, Tennant simply decides to make her own plan again.

And again, why??? Why another plan, what was that necessary for? Why not at least give the official plan some chance of success?

And surprisingly, this plan doesn't go all that well either. But hey, a man was murdered instead of charged, you didn't follow the rules and oh yeah, a prisoner got away.

Well done, great team leader. No one knows why but who cares.

For me, an episode that is made exciting for the sake of making it exciting, but loses sight of the logic and power of the story in the process. Shame.

The 6 points are for the loyalty of the team.

Really ended the season on a low note.

So just a few things, the bad guys AKs had the safeties on, the muzzle flash was horribly digital, the bullet hits on the vehicle were clearly stickers and her wrist would have been treated long before she returned to Hawaii.

What I meant before was "just a few things" I'm willing to waste my time writing about, they have destroyed what was a good show with the abysmal writing and very poor production quality. This means NCIS Sydney is definitely going to fail, I'd be surprised if Hawaii will last another season and when it fails they will only have lazy inept writers and terrible producers/directors to blame.

It literally physically hurts me to watch this show anymore and I will only watch the first 2 episodes of season 3 to see if they fix anything, after that I'll move on and consider it a one season show that had such amazing potential only to be... Not lost but literally thrown away.
